Set Sail for Fun in the Sun at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort

If you’re looking for a resort with a great location, numerous dining opportunities and an amazing pool, look no further than Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Although two separate deluxe resorts, they share a turn of the century New England style theme along with many amenities. They also share a spectacular location next to Crescent Lake.

Disney's Beach Club Resort
One of the best features of these resorts is, without a doubt, their location. With over 1,000 guest rooms combined, the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are a short walk away from Epcot’s International Gateway, where you can catch a ride on the Disney Skyliner, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort area, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels and a short boat ride away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s hard to beat that location!  (If you're in the mood for a longer walk, you can also walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios.)

With its pastel blue exterior and seaside details in the lobby and guest rooms, Disney’s Beach Club Resort gives off a very family friendly vibe. Rooms offer three separate views; standard, garden and lagoon or pool view. Most standard rooms sleep up to five people with two queen size beds and one day bed.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort room
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort shares the New England style theme of its sister resort, but is more formal with its many nautical touches. Rooms offer the same views as the Beach Club and standard rooms also sleep up to five people. In-room amenities at both resorts include a small refrigerator, alarm clock with radio, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, telephone, in room safe and an iron and ironing board.

The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts offer some spectacular dining opportunities to meet any of your dining needs. From quick service restaurants to signature dining, these resorts truly have it all! The Beach Club Resort is home to Cape May Café*, which offers a beachside setting for a character breakfast buffet and a seafood dinner buffet. It is also home to a quick service option at the Beach Club Marketplace.

One of my favorite restaurants at the Beach Club is Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. This 1950s style restaurant serves up old favorites such as hamburgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes. If you’re in the mood for dessert, this is the place for you! And if you are really hungry, try ordering a Kitchen Sink, complete with eight scoops of ice cream and every topping in the place!

The Ale and Compass at the Yacht Club offers up American seafood classics at breakfast, lunch and dinner. If signature dining is more your style, the Yachtsman Steakhouse* will be right up your alley! This New England style steakhouse is only open for dinner, and serves premium steaks, fresh seafood and more. If you're looking for an adult beverage, try the Ale & Compass Lounge or Crew's Cup Lounge* at the Yacht Club or Martha's Vineyard at the Beach Club.
Stormalong Bay
In addition to a great location and some exquisite dining opportunities, the Yacht and Beach Club share one of the best pools on property, Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay is over 3 acres long with white sand in the bottom of the pool. It has several different sections, including a wading pool, hot tubs, and lazy river. There’s also a shipwreck waterslide that is not to be missed! Due to its popularity, access to Stormalong Bay is monitored at three separate entrances where resort guests must scan their MagicBand.

At the Yacht and Beach Club there is no shortage of activities to entertain the entire family! There are movies shown nightly on the beach, bike rentals, tennis, volleyball, boat rentals, a playground and an arcade.

Although the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are some of the more expensive resorts on property, they really give you a lot of bang for your buck. The resorts have a ton of activities to ensure fun for the whole family! From an outstanding location just minutes from Epcot to dazzling Stormalong Bay, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are worth calling home on your next Walt Disney World vacation!

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
