Kingdom Camera Rentals

When going on vacation, especially a Disney one, one of the most important souvenirs to bring back are pictures.  They're timeless, they're fun and they capture the best memories that you'll never want to forget.  On my most recent trip to Walt Disney World last month I decided I wanted to try something new with my DSLR, and that was to shoot with an ultra wide angle lens.  The average going price for the lens I wanted was roughly $760.  Being the cautious person that I am, I decided that before I paid that much for the lens I wanted, I would rent it to be sure that I would get my use from it.

Many people don't know that you can rent a lens and are often surprised to hear of such a thing.  I googled and searched camera and lens rentals.  Many of them ship to you and you ship back to them, which is fine, but I was a bit concerned with the equipment getting lost or damaged while in transit.  Then I came across the company Kingdom Camera Rentals and my quest for renting a lens came to a close.

Kingdom Camera Rentals located right in Orlando came with some great reviews (and by some photographers who are well known for their great Disney pictures).  Among these people who had great things to say about them was our very own agent, Heather.  She had used them last fall and had nothing but wonderful things to say about them.  It was then and there that I decided this was my go-to lens rental company and I am so very happy that I did.

I looked through the great selection of Canon lenses they had available and found exactly what I was looking for - the Canon 10 - 22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens.  I reserved the lens online by selecting the dates I wanted to use it, the pickup window time and made the payment right then and there.  It couldn't have been more simple!  Immediately after the purchase I received a confirmation and receipt via email and my lens was reserved!

So how does one actually get the lens?  Well here is where it gets even more awesome.  When in Walt Disney World, the last thing anyone wants to do is to waste valuable vacation time driving to an unknown location.  This is where Kingdom Camera Rentals really steps in with amazing customer service.  A couple of days prior to my trip, Ron at Kingdom Camera Rentals called me to set up a meeting time based on the pickup window time I had selected when I reserved the lens.  I explained what time my flight was getting in and what time I expected to be at my resort, and from that we narrowed down a meeting time.  The day of our trip came and I got in earlier than I'd expected.  Lenise from Kingdom Camera Rental sent me a text that she was in the area if I happened to get in early to let her know and we could meet up.  My husband and I were staying at Caribbean Beach, which as many of you know is a very large resort.  I told Lenise we were heading to Old Port Royale for lunch and asked if it was possible to meet me there.  She told me what she was wearing so I could find her and as soon as I walked out front of Old Port Royale, there she was!

The whole transaction of getting the lens and signing documents took all of 3 or 4 minutes.  Lenise went over the condition of the lens with me to make sure I didn't see any problems or scratches on it.  There was no crazy amounts of paperwork to sign either.  Everything was done on an iPhone an easy as pie, and an email receipt was sent to me confirming pickup within minutes of me giving my signature.  The lens came in a nice protective bag with a lens hood and UV protector.  When it came time to return the lens, the transaction was just as simple.  Ron and I secured a pickup time a day before and he texted me when he arrived at Old Port Royale.  We went over the lens, I signed on the iPhone and I was off to spend my last day in Walt Disney World for that vacation.  Boy was I sad to see that lens go!  I fell in love with it!
