Narcoossee’s – A Forgotten Favorite

Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

I’ve been vacationing at Walt Disney World since I was four years old.  Throughout the years, I have eaten at countless restaurants across the parks and resorts.  I have my fair share of favorites that I always make sure to visit on each trip but some restaurants just don’t make the cut on each and every trip.  Sadly, Narcoossee’s was one of those restaurants.

I had been to Narcoossee’s once as a child and I remember enjoying the view and the food but I didn’t have a lot of memories of the place.  On a trip in 2009 with my parents, we decided to revisit the restaurant and we all enjoyed our meal but for some reason it just didn’t stand out to me.  Thankfully, we decided to go back to Narcoossee’s in 2012 and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip!  A forgotten favorite had returned as a front-runner for my favorite restaurant and this time, I wasn’t going to forget it! I've visited Narcoossee's on almost all trips since, most recently being in 2021, and it remains a favorite.

Narcoossee’s is located on the waterfront of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  It is in a fabulous location with panoramic views of the Seven Seas Lagoon.  There are several means of transportation you can take to get to Narcoossee’s.  If you are staying at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts on the monorail loop, you can take the monorail to the Grand Floridian.  From any other resort, you can take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail, ferry or brand new walkway to the Grand Floridian.  If you would like to be dropped off right next to the restaurant, take the ferry.

If you like seafood, then Narcoossee’s is the restaurant for you!  From appetizers to entrees, there are plenty of different options for seafood lovers everywhere.  I love seafood so it was actually really hard for me to decide on which appetizer to get.  We went with a party of 8, so lucky for me, I got to try a little bit of everything.  Two of my favorite appetizers are the calamari and crab cakes. It’s hard to find a good crab cake and I really enjoyed them.

Don’t worry if you don’t like seafood…there are land-based options.  One of our favorites at Narcoossee’s is the filet mignon.  It.  Was.  Delicious.  I, sadly, did not order the filet but luckily one of my family members was nice enough to share.  Never again will I go to Narcoossee’s and not order the filet. It was that good!  My husband still argues that the filet at Jiko is better but my vote goes to Narcoossee’s. For entrees, I had ordered just the lobster (yes…I know. I can’t believe I said “just the lobster”) and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the filet. I didn’t think the lobster was worth the hefty price tag. The filet, however, was definitely worth it. It was that good.
Desserts were also a huge hit and solidified Narcoossee’s as being on of our favorite meals of the trip. One of my favorites is the cheesecake. Mmm. I love cheesecake and Narcoossee’s has a delicious cheesecake that you must try. Another hit on our recent trip was the carrot cake. Delicious!

Narcoossee’s is a Signature Dining experience, which means that you need to dress up a little bit more than your usual table service restaurant. You can leave the tuxedos and evening gowns at home but there is a business causal dress code. Essentially, they ask that you don’t wear tank tops, swimsuits, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing or shirts with offensive language or graphics.
With most table service restaurants at Walt Disney World, reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 60 days prior to your visit.  Narcoossee’s is only open for dinner so plan accordingly when making your reservations.  Dining Plans are temporarily unavailable but previously, if you were using the Disney Dining or Deluxe Dining Plan, 2 credits were required per person.

Aside from the wonderful food and view of the Seven Seas Lagoon, Narcoossee’s also offers spectacular views of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.  They dim the lights in the restaurant and pipe in the music for a truly magical end to a fantastic evening.  They also have a wrap-around deck outside where you can stand and watch the fireworks.

Narcoossee’s has definitely made it back on my “Must Eat” list.  I probably won’t visit on each and every trip, but I am glad that I have found this favorite again.  It is one of the more expensive restaurants on property, but it is a nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or simply to splurge because you are on vacation!  If you have never been to Narcoossee’s before, give it a try and if you haven’t been in awhile, give it another try. Who knows? You may just find you have a forgotten favorite!

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
