Bring a Little Disney Magic to Your Holiday Season

The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World.  The weather is usually cooler and there are fewer crowds earlier in the season, but more importantly, the resorts and parks are decked out in their finest Christmas decorations.  I don’t always get the chance to visit the parks to see the decorations but I have managed to bring a little bit of that Disney Christmas magic to my own home every year.  Here are a few ways you can bring the Disney magic home this holiday season!

Decorate Your Tree with Disney Ornaments
As a kid, my favorite ornaments on our tree were always the Disney ones so it is only logical that as an adult with my own Christmas tree to decorate, that I would have a tree entirely dedicated to Disney ornaments!  On each trip to Walt Disney World, I pick up a few new ornaments to add to my tree.  They are wonderful souvenirs and it’s a great way to remember our different trips!  I also frequent shopDisney.com each season for special deals on their cute ornaments.

Make DIY Mickey Ornaments
Another great way to bring some Disney magic to your Christmas season is to make your own Mickey ornaments to add to the tree!  A few years ago, I created some Mickey ornaments using 3 Styrofoam balls, sequins, pins, hot glue and ribbon.  It’s a super easy, yet slightly time consuming task but they enable you to create your own ornaments for a fraction of the price of purchasing Disney ornaments.  I am sure Pinterest has some other DIY Disney ornament ideas that are worth trying!

Watch Disney Christmas Movies
Nothing helps get me in the Christmas spirit more than watching a good Christmas movie!  A Christmas Carol is a classic story that I love watching every year.  Two of my favorite versions are Mickey’s Christmas Carol and The Muppets Christmas Carol.  If you don’t own those two or you just love watching as many Christmas movies as possible, you can always watch Freeform's Kickoff to Christmas the whole month of November and then 25 Days of Christmas starting on December 1st.  They have a jam-packed schedule every year with some great choices!  For Disney+ subscribers, you can search their Happy Holidays collection for even more Christmas movie marathons.

Wrap Presents with Disney Wrapping Paper
I love finding new Disney wrapping paper each year. I found this super cute wrapping paper a few years ago at Target!  I'm always on the lookout for ways to incorporate Disney into my Christmas presents and this is a great way to do so without getting everyone a Disney themed gift.

Make Mickey Shaped Cookies
Is it just me or does Mickey shaped food just taste better?  I make sugar cookies every year and always have such a great time decorating them.  My favorite cookies are the Mickey shaped ones that I make to look like ornaments.

Watch the Disney Parks Christmas Special on ABC
Finally, on Christmas Day you can watch the Disney Parks Christmas Special on your local ABC station.  Get a chance to see Disneyland and Walt Disney World in all their Christmas glory, along with special performances by musical guests.  It’s the perfect way to put a finishing touch of Disney magic to any Christmas season!

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th

Lightning Lane Step by Step Guide

We recently answered some  frequently asked questions  about the new Lightning Lane service at the Walt Disney World Resort. Now, let's take it even further and go through the step-by-step instructions on how to purchase and use the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass service on your next Walt Disney World vacation.  Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can only be purchased through the My Disney Experience app and, depending on where you are staying for your vacation, can be purchased 7 or 3 days in advance of your park visit.  How to Purchase and Select the Lightning Lane Multi Pass through the My Disney Experience App Step 1.  Open the My Disney Experience app and login if it's the first time you're using the app or if the app hasn't saved your login information from previous uses.  Step 2.  There are a few places where you can purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Single Pass. The easiest way to purchase is through t
