Walt Disney World Transportation Information


One of the perks of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is the complimentary transportation and proximity to the parks. Once you arrive at your resort, you have a variety of methods to travel to and from the Disney parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, all included with your stay.  

If you have not been before, here is a guide to understanding how Walt Disney World transportation operates. Once you arrive, you'll also find friendly Cast Members who are happy to help direct you, should you have questions while on vacation. 

Transportation Basics

You can travel directly between:
You CANNOT go directly from resort to resort, or from Disney Springs to the theme parks.

Resort to Resort: You'll need to take two methods of transportation.
  • You can take the first bus that arrives to any park or Disney Springs. From there, you can transfer to the resort you wish to visit.
  • If you are going to a Deluxe Resort, you may want to go to the park nearest that resort, and take the alternative transportation from that park to the resort. For example, when going to Disney's  Contemporary Resort, you could take a bus to the Magic Kingdom, and then either walk or take the Monorail to your final destination. (See below for full list of Deluxe Resort transportation options.)
  • Lyft or Minnie Vans will be the quickest way to get from resort to resort, but are not included and will incur an extra fee. If you think you might want to use this service on your trip, make sure you have the Lyft app installed on your phone before your trip.
Park to Disney Springs: If you need to go to Disney Springs from a park, you can grab the first resort bus that comes along. From there, you can transfer to a Disney Springs bus. To go in reverse- from Disney Springs to a park- hop on a resort bus, and transfer to the park bus from that resort. You can either take the first resort bus you see- or it would be wise to go to a resort near the park you wish to visit (for example: take a Contemporary bus and walk to the Magic Kingdom. See below for options). Disney does offer one-way bus service from the theme parks to Disney Springs from 4pm until 11pm or 1 hour after theme parks close. Check the transportation boards when departing the park to see if bus service is offered.

This state-of-the-art gondola system conveniently connects Disney's Hollywood Studios and International Gateway at Epcot to the following Resort hotels: Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort. The main hub is at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort where you can transfer between the Hollywood Studios and Epcot Lines.

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. Chronos Club Review at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

I recently stayed at the Chronos Club at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I've been a fan of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort since my first visit as it reminds me of my hometown, San Antonio. I've stayed in rooms ranging from preferred, Casita Suite, Tower King, and now Club Level access. The Chronos Club is located on the 15th floor of the Gran Destino Tower and can only be accessed with a key card or MagicBand to a corresponding Club Level reservation. I've previously stayed Club Level at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, and Disney's Grand Californian Resort. These are all considered Deluxe Resorts. Something that makes the Chronos Club stand out is that it is located in what Disney considers a Moderate Resort.
