Photo Tour: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge


Step into the heart of Africa at the absolutely stunning Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Located in, not surprisingly, Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort Area, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has dazzling pool areas, exciting animal programs and one of the largest collections of African art in the United States.  The horseshoe-curved design of the resort offers spectacular views of lush savannas that are home to over 200 animals and birds. Now, let's see everything Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has to offer and start our photo tour!

Outside the lobby, you'll find the one and only bus departure location for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. There is another bus stop at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and occasionally your bus may make a stop at Kidani Village to pick up additional guests. Similarly, sometimes your bus may stop at Kidani Village to drop off guests before going to Jambo House. 
You'll find sundries, snacks, souvenirs, African art and more at Zawadi Marketplace located in the resort lobby.

Victoria Falls Lounge
Resembling a lively African marketplace, Boma - Flavors of Africa features all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets for breakfast and dinner.

Grab a quick snack to go or grab a seat in the dining room at The Mara, a quick service option at this resort.

Room types offered at this resort include Standard Rooms and Suites, and Deluxe Studios, which sleep up to 4 guests, and also has 1-2- and 3-Bedroom Villas which sleep up to 12 guests. 

The Standard Room, pictured below, includes 2 queen beds, beverage cooler, coffee maker, flat panel TV and a magical companion called "Hey Disney."

The resort offers spectacular views of the 3 savannas (4 if you count the savanna at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village). If you don't want to spend the extra money on a savanna view room, no worries! There are plenty of public areas where you can view the animals.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to the Uzima Pool, an 11,000-square-foot pool complete with waterslide and a zero-depth entry point similar to that of a natural watering hole you might find on the savanna. Uzima Pool also includes a children’s wading pool and 2 whirlpool spas.

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready.
