Best Things to do at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom’s massive 500 acres are rich in detail, storytelling, and immersive experiences that celebrate the Earth in big and small ways.

To help you make the most of your Animal Kingdom visit here are some nature-rich, conservation-inspired Must Do’s:
🌳 Tree of Life & Discovery Island Trails
At the heart of the park stands the Tree of Life, an iconic 145-foot sculpture with over 300 animals intricately carved into its trunk. Take time to walk the Discovery Island Trails, where you’ll get closer views of the tree and encounter otters, flamingos, and other animals. It’s a peaceful spot that invites reflection on our planet’s incredible biodiversity.
🌿 Na’vi River Journey
Glide through the bioluminescent rainforest of Pandora on this gentle boat ride. Inspired by the fictional planet from Avatar, the journey is a reminder of how interconnected ecosystems can be, real or imagined. Kids and adults alike will love the glowing plant life and harmonious sounds of nature.

🦒 Kilimanjaro Safaris
No visit is complete without a ride through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve! This open-air safari gets you up close to giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, and more. Early mornings or near sunset offer the best chances to see active animals. For Earth Day, Cast Members often share extra conservation stories about the animals you see, don’t be shy to ask questions!

💡 Earth Day Tip: Ask a Cast Member about Disney’s animal care efforts, including endangered species protection and breeding programs for animals like the okapi and white rhino.Must-

🧬 Rafiki’s Planet Watch & Conservation Station
This often-overlooked land is the ultimate Earth Day stop! Board the Wildlife Express Train to learn about veterinary care, animal nutrition, and real-world conservation work. You might even catch a live animal check-up! There’s also the Affection Section, a petting zoo where kids can interact with goats, sheep, and pigs.

🎭 Festival of the Lion King
This vibrant Broadway-style show celebrates the circle of life - a fitting message for Earth Day. With music, dance, acrobatics, and audience participation, it’s an energetic reminder of nature’s rhythms and the importance of preserving wildlife and wild spaces.

🧭 Slow Down and Soak It All In
From hidden animal prints in the pavement to authentic gear in Africa and Asia, every corner of Animal Kingdom tells a story rooted in respect for nature and culture. Keep your eyes open for Hidden Mickeys and notice how even the sounds (like distant bird calls) add to the immersive experience.

🚀 Avatar Flight of Passage
This is more than a thrill ride!! it’s a powerful celebration of nature. You’ll bond with a banshee and fly through mountains, oceans, and forests, feeling the wind and smell of Pandora’s untamed wilderness. It’s a breathtaking tribute to our planet’s own beauty and fragility.

🍴 Flame Tree Barbecue
After exploring, grab a bite at this peaceful quick-service spot on Discovery Island. Enjoy a pulled pork sandwich or ribs under a shaded pavilion with views of the Discovery River and Expedition Everest in the distance while surrounded by nature!

🌱 Eco Tip: Bring a reusable water bottle! There are filling stations throughout the park to help reduce plastic waste.

🎢 Expedition Everest
While not nature-focused, this coaster tells the tale of a mythical mountain guardian -the Yeti- and celebrates Himalayan culture. The queue is packed with artifacts, photos, and legends, all inspired by real-life expeditions.

Every April, Animal Kingdom hosts Earth Week celebrations, with limited-time merchandise, themed snacks, nature-inspired photo ops, and educational exhibits throughout the park. Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug...

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th...

Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, the agents rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. We received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view! We arrived to a welcome basket of various fr...
