Ears the News with Richard

Tom Staggs, Chairman Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has announced via Twitter that the 'Frozen' makeover of Epcot's Norway Pavilion will soon begin.

Details are scarce, but Staggs confirms that a 'Frozen' attraction will replace the Maelstrom, taking guests to Arendelle. Also part of the Norway Pavilion makeover will be a meet and greet location for Anna and Else.

The Norway Pavilion will remain open during the construction work on the attraction, with the Maelstrom having its last day of operation on October 5 2014. The reopening of the Frozen attraction at Norway will be early 2016.

Disney has today confirmed that the characters from 'Frozen' will be appearing during the holiday season at the Magic Kingdom
.
Cinderella's Holiday Wish, which features the Castle Dream Lights, will be replaced with a 'Frozen'
lighting ceremony, featuring the characters from 'Frozen.' Queen Elsa will use her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will also feature Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf in “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.”

Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! at Disney's Hollywood Studios comes to a close on September 28 2014 after being extended from its original early September close.

The event has proven to be extremely popular with guests, and Disney will be extending some parts of the event through the fall. So here is a summary of what is staying, and what is going.

"For the First Time in Forever: A ‘Frozen’ Sing-Along Celebration" will be remaining, playing in the Premiere Theater on the Streets of America. The number of shows per day vary, up to a maximum of 10. There is some speculation that the show will ultimately move to the American Idol location, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Wandering Oaken's merchandise location and play area will move to the former American Film Institute Showcase, located at the exit of the Studio Backlot Tour. There will be no ice skating, but the real snow playground and Frozen merchandise will continue to be available.

So what will not be continued into the fall? The Royal Procession mini-parade, the Frozen Fireworks show, and the Ice Skating will be coming to a close on September 28 2014.

Disney has released version 2.3 of the 'My Disney Experience' app for Apple iOS devices.

Disney just announced that on-ride photos and video have been added to the Seven Dwarfs Mine
Train attraction. Now, when guests ride the attraction with a MagicBand and linked Memory Maker in their My Disney Experience account, the photo and video from their ride experience will automatically be linked into their My Disney Experience account. This is the second attraction to add ride videos, after Tower of Terror a few weeks ago.

If you are planning to visit either Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year, it may be the first time that you attend a party night in the MyMagic+ era.
If you are curious how you can use MyMagic+ during the event, WDWMagic has compiled a list of everything you need to know.

Linking Ticketed Event to MyMagic+

If you buy your party tickets directly from the 'My Disney Experience' website or app, your party tickets should automatically be linked to your 'My Disney Experience' account. If not, they can be manually linked.

A linked party ticket means that you do not have to hand over a paper ticket at the turnstiles to enter the event, and instead your RFID ticket or MagicBand becomes your park entry admission for the party. Once inside the park, you will still get a wristband as before.

Using FastPass+ at Ticketed Events

FastPass+ is not operational during ticketed special events, but there is something you should be aware of. Your event ticket will typically get you into the park at 4pm, which means that you can use FastPass+ between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM (in the case of the two Magic Kingdom events).

Using MagicBands at Ticket Events

So what can you use a MagicBand for at one of the ticketed events? Just like on a normal park day, you can use a MagicBand to enter the park, buy food and merchandise with Touch-To-Pay, and use Disney PhotoPass and Memory Maker packages. FastPass+ is not available during the party, but is available from the earliest entry time at 4pm, through to the start of the party at 7pm.
Getting bored of your regular solid colored MagicBand? Disney has a range of special edition MagicBands, including a Haunted Mansion and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party band.

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
