Disney's Beach Club Resort & Villas

Disney's Beach Club Resort and Villas is often listed among guest's favorite Walt Disney World resorts.  Full disclosure, I used to work at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, so I might be a little biased, but I've also recently stayed there as a guest and can safely say, I loved it! The resort is nestled along Crescent Lake and is part of the Epcot Resort cluster.  From the Beach Club, you can not only walk to Epcot, but over to the Yacht Club, Boardwalk or Swan and Dolphin for additional amenities!

This post is actually somewhat about two resorts in one.  Disney's Beach Club Resort is a Deluxe Resort while Disney's Beach Club Villas are a Disney Vacation Club property.  Both resorts share the same amenities, the Villas are just in a separate building a very short walk away and give some additional "feels like home" aspects to their rooms which include Studio, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom Villas.  Disney's Beach Club Resort has your typical hotel room layout and offers Club Level and Suites as well.  The Beach Club Villas fill up especially fast when there is a festival going on at Epcot, so if this resort is on your "must stay" list, I'd advise booking as soon as you know you want to go.  As a Deluxe Resort, the Beach Club offers multiple dining locations, a lounge, a kids club, and one of the best (if not THE best) pools on property and more.

General Atmosphere: The general atmosphere at the Beach Club is relaxed and casual.  The beachy vibes and character dining available make it a comfortable place for families to stay.  The light colors keep the breezy feeling throughout the day and evening. And personally, I love the lobby scents when you first walk in! Outside, stop along the beach or enjoy the grassy green space around the resort. A stroll along Crescent Lake is a wonderful way to wind down from a long day at the parks as well and so peaceful.

Beach Club Dining: Cape May Cafe offers a character breakfast with Minnie and the gang in their beach finest, and in the evening it transforms into a seafood feast with the Cape May Clam Bake.  Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is a great place for ice cream lovers, with many delectable sundaes and their famous "kitchen sink".  The Beach Club Marketplace has a large selection of  grab and go as well as quick service options.  Hurricane Hanna's  by the pool offers an all day quick service menu and signature cocktail drinks.

Beach Club Recreation: This resort is home to Stormalong Bay, which is much more than your typical resort pool.  There is a shipwreck, water slides, lazy river and multiple hot tubs to compliment the sandy bottom pool.  If that's not your scene, there is also a quiet pool and the Beach Club Villas have their own quiet pool as well. Additionally, there is Ship Shape Massage, Salon and Fitness, Lafferty Place Arcade, and the Sandcastle Club (kids club).  Like many Disney resorts, there are also movies under the stars on select nights (weather permitting) and a campfire.  A short walk over to the Yacht Club (just at the other end of Stormalong Bay) there is also a Marina for watercraft activities.

Beach Club Villas: Ariel greets you as you take your short walk from the Beach Club to the Beach Club Villas.  On my most recent stay, I stayed in a Two Bedroom Villa which was the perfect size for our party of 6 adults.  One and Two Bedroom Villas include a full kitchen and dining area and a washer and dryer.  We enjoyed having the full kitchen space and a common area to hang out, it was really great to bring us all together.

Off the small lobby for the building is a common room of sorts.  There's a pool table, some comfy seating and a TV.  Use of this room is first come, first serve.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Beach Club Villas!  We took full advantage of being able to walk to Epcot, enjoyed dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (next door at the Yacht Club) and lunch at the Beach Club Marketplace and got lots of great lounge time at Stormalong Bay and the quiet pool.  For even more photos from the Beach Club, check out our Photo Tour. Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
