Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World

Have you ever dreamed of visiting a galaxy far, far away? Well, now's your chance! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a dream come true for every Star Wars fan out there.

You actually have two options for visiting Galaxy's Edge and luckily, neither option is too far, far away. You can visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida and at Disneyland Park in California. For this post, we're focusing on Walt Disney World's version of the land.

It's hard to visit Galaxy's Edge without feeling totally immersed in the Star Wars galaxy. From unique attractions to dining and shopping opportunities, this galaxy has it all!

ATTRACTIONS

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Take control of the fastest ship in the galaxy! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run gives guests the chance to fly the iconic starship on a mission for Hondo Ohnaka. Each ship is assigned two Pilots, two Gunners and two Engineers so if you have a party larger than six, you'll have to split up.

The attraction is available with the Genie+ Lightning Lane service and has a Single Rider Line in addition to the traditional standby queue. The attraction has a 38" height requirement so the little ones will need to sit this one out. This is a thrill/simulator ride so for safety, guests should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should also not ride.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
No spoilers here but this attraction is absolutely amazing! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an attraction like we've never seen before with multiple ride systems and is a truly thrilling, one of a kind experience.
This attraction is available to experience by the standby queue or you can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction. This attraction is not included in the Genie+ service. The prices for Individual Lightning Lane vary by date but at the time of this posting, prices for this attraction have been around $20 per person, plus tax. You can only use the Individual Lightning Lane option once per day for this attraction so if you want to ride more than once, you'll need to wait in the standby queue.

Another important thing to note about this attraction is that there is a 40" height requirement. This is a thrill ride with small drops so for safety, guests should be in good health and expectant mothers should also not ride. If you guests in your party can't/don't want to ride this attraction, you can use the Rider Switch service.

CUSTOM MERCHANDISE

Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers
Live out every Star Wars fan's dream and build your own lightsaber at Savi's Workshop. This experience is extremely popular so reservations are highly recommended. You can make reservations up to 60 days in advance. The cost is $249.99 per lightsaber, plus tax and includes one lightsaber/carrying case per experience. Payment will be due upon arrival at Savi's.

This experience is limited to the builder plus one guest and at least one person in the party must be 14 years or older. So if you want to make more than one lightsaber, you'll need to make more than one reservation.

Droid Depot
If you love R2-D2 and BB8, you'll love visiting the Droid Depot where you can build your very own droid! You'll be provided a basket and blueprint to design your BB-Series or R-Series unit. After you gather your parts from the conveyor belt, you can visit a Build Station where you can assemble your droid.

Reservations are highly recommended but the Droid Depot can also accommodate walk-ins based on availability. If this is on your Must-Do list, I recommend making a reservation 60 days in advance. The cost is $119.99 per droid unit, plus tax and includes a box to carry your droid plus instructions and remote. Personality chips and other accessories are available at an additional cost. The experience area is limited to the builder and one guest, with at least one person in the party being age 14 or older.

DINING

Oga's Cantina
Visit Batuu's notorious watering hole to try a sampling of unique libations. Oga's Cantina offers a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails that are out of this world. Space inside Oga's is extremely limited, so we highly recommend advance reservations. Due to the limited seating and it's popularity, your visit is limited to 45 minutes.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Fuel up at this Black Spire quick service dining location. An added bonus to this dining location is you can now order food through the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device. Docking Bay 7 is available for lunch or dinner, serving dishes from across the galaxy like Batuuan Beef Pot Roast and Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad. Seating is available inside the hanger or you can grab a table outside.

Milk Stand
You can't visit Galaxy's Edge without trying a legendary blue or green milk from the Milk Stand! These really don't taste like milk and are more of a fruity, frozen concoction. You can also try an alcoholic version of the blue or green milk.

Ronto Roasters
A quick service option on Batuu, Ronto Roasters is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Specialities include Ronto Wraps and Galma Snack Sampler.
Kat Saka's Kettle
If you're looking for a sweet, savory snack, Kat Saka's is the place for you. You can grab some Outpost Popcorn Mix and a Bottled Orb Soda. I had to get both and I'm happy to report the popcorn was very tasty! The Bottled Orb Sodas are pricey but they make great souvenirs. I have my empty Diet Coke orb displayed in my movie room.

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in
