Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort brings the easygoing vibe of the Caribbean to the Walt Disney World Resort. At this Moderate Resort, guests will enjoy vibrant colors and lush landscapes, all while Calypso music plays in the background. This relaxing paradise has 5 building areas, referred to as villages, and each village is themed after a different Caribbean island: Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad and Aruba.

Old Port Royale is the resort's "port of entry" and is where you'll find the check-in desk, lobby concierge, and bell services. It's also the home to Calypso Trading Post, the resort's gift shop, and Centertown Market, the resort's main quick service option and a Grab & Go market.

In addition to Centertown Market, Old Port Royale is also where you'll find the resort's table service restaurant, Sebastian's Bistro. The restaurant offers casual dining with family style dishes featuring Latin and Caribbean flavors. Sebastian's Bistro is located along the Old Port Royale promenade and offers waterfront views while you dine. Looking for a quick bite or drink while at the pool? Banana Cabana is the pool bar and also has a lounge that serves island bar favorites.

Outside Old Port Royale is where you will find the main pool of the resort, Fuentes del Morro pool. The pool is themed like an old Spanish citadel with 2 water lines and water cannons. There's also a shipwreck water play area nearby for younger kids to enjoy. If you're looking for a quieter pool option, each Village has it's own pool that's often less crowded than the feature pool.

Guest rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort embrace the colors of the islands. Most rooms have two Queen Beds but there are some King rooms available as well. If you're a party of 5, there's also rooms available for a 5th sleeper. Those rooms include 2 Queen Beds and 1 Child-Size Pull-Down Bed. The Pull-Down Bed is meant for a child so if you are traveling with all adults, you may want to rethink that room option as the bed may not be comfortable for a taller adult. All of the rooms have two sinks outside the bathroom which is a huge plus when you have multiple people getting ready in the morning. All of the rooms also have a mini-fridge and small coffee maker.

For guests who always dreamed of being a buccaneer, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort also has Pirate-Themed rooms. This unique accommodation features ship-shaped beds and nautical details that transport you to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. It's important to note that the Pirate rooms have 2 Double Beds. You'll find the Pirate rooms located in the Trinidad Village of the resort. These rooms are the furthest away from Old Port Royale but there is a quick service option, Spyglass Grill*, located near the Trinidad pool area so you do have a food option close by.

Disney Skyliner above Aruba Village
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is home to the main hub of the Disney Skyliner, making it a great location with easy access to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The Caribbean Beach Skyliner Station is located across the lake from the Trinidad Village. It's a quick walk to the station from the Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad Villages but is a little farther walk from Aruba or Martinique. Luckily, the Disney's Riviera Resort Skyliner Station is another option for guests staying in those Villages. On our recent trip, we were in Aruba Building 55 which was just steps away from the Riviera Skyliner Station. When traveling to Disney's Hollywood Studios, it was faster for us to grab a ride from the Riviera Station and then transfer at the CBR Skyliner Station than it was to walk to that station.

If you're looking to visit the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Blizzard Beach, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, or Disney Springs, you can use Disney's complimentary bus transportation to those locations. Bus stops are located at each village and you can also catch a bus from Old Port Royale. Buses run approximately every 20 minutes and there are also display boards at the bus stops letting you know when to expect the next bus. The My Disney Experience app also displays estimated bus times.

Caribbean Beach is a large resort so you'll also find an internal bus service available. The internal bus service is a great option if you are in a Village far away from Old Port Royale and want to give your feet a break from walking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and would absolutely stay here again on a future trip. The access to the Disney Skyliner is a major added benefit to staying at this resort! The resort is in a great location, with comfortable rooms and a moderate price point. It's also a great option for families of 5 who don't want to stay in a suite or upgrade to a Deluxe Resort.

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th
