Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs


Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs is one of my go-to spots for a great meal.  The restaurant itself is beautiful and I've had so many great meals there over the years. Chef Morimoto is a relatively well-known chef after appearing on Iron Chef America as one of the original Iron Chefs, so when he opened a restaurant at Disney Springs I was so excited to give it a try being a fan of the show and of Chef Morimoto.  This restaurant brings his masterful Asian cuisine to Florida in his first "Pan-Asian" concept.  With 20-foot chandeliers and glass walls giving a peek into the kitchen and a sushi bar upstairs, there is something to catch everyone's eye here.

In October, they had specialty spooky cocktails on the menu that we just couldn't resist trying! One was pumpkin and lychee based and the other was grapefruit and rose and they were both good but the black magic was definitely our favorite.

After our cocktails, we started our meal with some sushi.  Tonight we opted for an Eel Roll which was fresh and delicious.  I've also included a few other sushi rolls from other meals at the end of the post so you can see the variety of sushi they offer here, it has never disappointed me! For our "second course" we went with my absolute favorite dish, the Morimoto Spare Ribs.  These are what I get every trip to this restaurant and I absolutely adore them, but my dining companion did find them to be a little on the sweet side.

Our main course tonight was recommended by our server and was the Morimoto "Buri-Bop".  This is actually cooked tableside in the clay pot and comes with a little story about Morimoto which was really fun.  We enjoyed the experience but then also really liked the dish.  The fish was so fresh and delicate and everything just married so nicely together in the bowl.

We were too full to have dessert this time but fully enjoyed our meal here!  Here are some more photos of the sushi and the sushi bar upstairs for the sushi lovers out there.  Each roll I've had has been beautifully crafted and presented, fresh and delightful!

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks.
