Dinner at Topolino's Terrace

Topolino's Terrace is a stunning restaurant at the top of Disney's Riviera Resort, which is most easily accessed via Disney's Skyliner.  The restaurant boasts a terrace with amazing views of the Walt Disney World Resort but is also beautiful in its own right with the attention to detail really coming through.  While it serves a wonderful character breakfast and brunch, we opted to have dinner here on this evening which is more of an upscale character-free affair.  This is a great spot for a night out where you'd feel comfortable getting a little fancy for the meal.

We started our evening at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready.  The cocktails here are as delicious as they are beautiful (zero-proof as well!).  I've been here several times now and tried several drinks, and honestly haven't been disappointed with a single one.  We loved the seasonal drink so much one time we asked for the recipe and were gifted a hand-written note with it! A staple on the beverage menu seems to be the Modern Fashioned, Knob Creek Rye Whiskey, Appleton Estate Reserve Blend Rum, Vanilla Bean, and Bitters, which I'd recommend if you are an old fashioned fan.
Dinner is a signature dining experience and the menu reflects that, with appetizers such as escargot or duck confit and entrees ranging from filet mignon to branzino. Here are a few of the menu highlights that our agents have enjoyed.  The menu does change occasionally, but everything we have tried here has been delicious!
Ricotta: Tomato, Aged Balsamic, Cracked Pepper, Basil, Epi
Rigatoni with braised chicken sugo, broccolini, pancetta, wild mushrooms, black truffle
Warm Chocolate Cake with Caramel Center, Chantilly, Raspberries
This is a restaurant I find myself going back to time and time again, and going out of my way to dine here even when I'm not staying at the Riviera Resort. If you are driving yourself to the resort for a meal, remember that you need a confirmed dining reservation to park there. Let me know what I should try on my next visit in the comments below!

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug...

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th...

Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, the agents rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. We received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view! We arrived to a welcome basket of various fr...
