The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities.
When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks.

You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready.
In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. The theme “decades of Walt Disney Animation Studios history and storytelling” is seen throughout the tower. There’s a beautiful mural that was made by Lorelay Bove, that illustrates the Disney classics from Alice and Wonderland, Snow White and Moana. The lobby is inspired by Disney’s animated movies, like Steamboat Willie.

In the lobby, you will find the fitness center complete with weights, ellipticals, exercise bikes, and treadmills. The best part is that the fitness center is open 24 hours.

Right outside, you will see the Palette Pool with the Steamboat Willie water play area. It also has a hot tub exclusive to the Disneyland Villa Resort guests. There is the “Palm Breeze Bar” located near the pool area. It was set to open the following month.

The hallway leading to the rooms were bright and colorful and had beautiful pictures and wallpaper.

The rooms at the Villas at the Disneyland Hotel were very modern with a hint of magical touches. We stayed at the Deluxe Studios which sleeps up to four people. It has a kitchenette which includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with pods, toaster, plates, bowls, glass cups, coffee cups and silverware. The plates were extremely helpful when we picked up food from Tangaroa Terrace.

Our room was themed with The Princess and the Frog. Other Deluxe Studios are decorated with the Sleeping Beauty theme. I thought the room was beautiful. The colors and decorations were subtle yet made the room beautiful. The artwork, fixtures and other decorations had a nice touch. In the room, there is a queen bed which I thought was comfortable. The headboard was illuminated with the Princess and the Frog. There is a switch where you can control the headboard light. The room also has a murphy bed which also can be a couch. I thought the bed folded down easily - just make sure to get EVERYTHING out of the way.

The room has a lot of storage areas. It contains a dresser with six drawers in addition to the storage cabinet. Disney really thought about all the plugs and outlets their guests would need to charge EVERYTHING.
The bathroom is both functional, clean and has a lot of shower space. It reminds me of the new bathrooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. You will see that the room with the toilet is separated by a sliding door.
Being part of the Disneyland Resort Hotels means that you get all the benefits of staying at these resorts. The best part is that the security entrance is at the opposite side of Downtown Disney so it is not as crowded. Once you get through security, you can walk to the parks through Downtown Disney or hop on the monorail With a park ticket, you can use the monorail where it will drop you off at Tomorrowland.

I enjoyed my stay at the Villas at the Disneyland Hotel. However, I do love the original rooms at the Disneyland Hotel. The headboards at the Disneyland Hotel are my absolute favorite. If you aren’t going to use the amenities at the resort, I would reconsider, but if you are planning on having resort days, this is an amazing and beautiful place.

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug...
