Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Celebrate the formal elegance of a New England style yacht club when you stay at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This Deluxe Resort is located on Crescent Lake in the EPCOT Resort Area and features numerous dining opportunities and an amazing pool in a truly great location at the Walt Disney World Resort. The resort shares many amenities with its pastel-toned sister resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort.

Rooms

Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers several room options including Water or Resort Views as well as Club Level options. Resort Views include views of the gardens, rooftop or parking area and Water Views include views of Crescent Lake or the Quiet Pool. Water View - Club Level rooms offer views of one of the Stormalong Bay Lagoons.
The Water and Resort View rooms sleep up to 5 adults, with 1 King Bed or 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed or 2 Queen Beds or 2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed, and can accommodate 1 additional guest if under the age of 3 in a Pack n' Play.

The Club Level Resort and Water View rooms only sleep up to 4 adults. If you want to stay Club Level but have more than 4 adults, there are also 2 Bedroom Suites that sleep up to 6 adults and a Turret Suite that sleeps up to 8 adults.

In-room amenities include a small beverage cooler (standard rooms), hairdryer, in-room safe, free WiFi, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, and telephone. The suites include a mini-refrigerator.
The rooms have been recently refurbished and have some wonderful nautical touches. One of my favorites is the curtains with constellations showing a lot of character.

Transportation

One of the best features of Disney's Yacht Club Resort is it's abundance of transportation options. Disney's Yacht Club Resort is just a short walk away from the International Gateway at EPCOT. There is also a walking path to Disney's Hollywood Studios that takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on how quickly you walk. You can also walk to Disney's BoardWalk area or the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels.

There is also a ferry boat option to the International Gateway at EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The boat is a shared service with Disney's BoardWalk and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels.

The Disney Skyliner station at International Gateway at EPCOT is conveniently located just a short walk away. Guests can take the Disney Skyliner to Disney's Hollywood Studios and to the Disney Skyliner Resorts: Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

Bus transportation is available to the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and the Disney water parks.

Dining

Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers some spectacular dining opportunities to meet any of your dining needs. From quick service restaurants to signature dining, this resort has it all. There are also additional dining options available a short walk away at Disney's Beach Club Resort. For this post's purposes, we're only covering the dining locations at the Yacht Club.

Ale & Compass Restaurant
This casual dining option is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you'll dine on New England comfort food and classic seafood dishes in a coastal-inspired restaurant that's reminiscent of a cozy lighthouse. Advance reservations are recommended but you can also join the walk-up list for same day availability.

Ale & Compass Lounge
If you're looking for a quick drink or light snacks in a cozy space, the Ale & Compass Lounge is located right off the lobby. It's a nautical nook, serving appetizers from 5pm-10pm, and a variety of beers, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

Crew's Cup Lounge
Located next to the Yachtsman Steakhouse, the Crew's Cup Lounge serves beer, wine and cocktails, along with a tasty selection of menu items. The Lounge Favorites are available 5pm-10pm.

Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar and Grill
Although listed as being located at Disney's Beach Club Resort, this pool-side dining option can be found at the shared Stormalong Bay. This waterside bar and grill serves sandwiches, burgers, seafood rolls, salads and snacks, along with frozen beverages, cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic options.

Recreation

Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers no shortage of activities to entertain the entire family. There are Movies Under the Stars shown nightly on the beach, bike rentals, tennis, Pickleball, volleyball, boat rentals from Bayside Marina, a playground and the Lafferty Place Arcade. There's also several jogging paths, including a loop around Crescent Lake.

The resort is also home to one of the best pools on property, Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay is over 3 acres long with white sand in the bottom of the pool. It has several different sections, including a wading pool, hot tubs, and lazy river. There’s also a shipwreck waterslide that is not to be missed! There are also poolside cabana rentals available. Due to its popularity, access to Stormalong Bay is monitored at three separate entrances where resort guests must scan their MagicBand and will receive a wristband to use the pool.

If you're looking for a quieter pool, there are also 3 leisure pools, the Admiral Pool at the Yacht Club and the Tidal Pool and Dunes Cove Pool at the Beach Club, that you can visit.

Our Two Cents

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is one of my favorite resorts on Disney property! One of the best features of this resort is, without a doubt, its location. Being able to walk to EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios, and having several other transportation options is absolutely worth the Deluxe price tag. From an outstanding location just minutes from EPCOT to the exquisite dining options and the dazzling Stormalong Bay, this resort is worth calling home on your next Walt Disney World vacation!

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th

Complete Guide to Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney's new Bahamian island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a pristine, secluded paradise reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. The cruise port is located on the island of Eleuthera (pronounced uh-loo-tr-uh) at it's southern tip, amidst a nature preserve called Lighthouse Point. Far from any towns, Lookout Cay feels like a tropical oasis that is separated from the outside world by mangrove forests. The landscaping is gorgeous with flowers like plumerias, and tall swaying palm trees. Whether you want to just kick back and relax or go for a thrilling banana boat ride, this port has something for everyone. There are family friendly areas as well as those reserved specifically for adults. Expert Tip: If you want a view of the island from your stateroom, be sure to book a starboard (right) side stateroom. Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay After disembarking your Disney Cruise ship, you'll cross the pier to the island on foot. (It looks longer in
