Packing List for your Walt Disney World Vacation

Packing for your Walt Disney World vacation can be an overwhelming experience. We've put together a packing list to help reduce stress as you prepare to travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth. The list includes basic items like extra socks and comfortable shoes, to some of those items you may not think you need but will be happy you packed!

The purpose of this list is to provide you with an idea of items to pack and is certainly not intended to be a comprehensive list of everything you must pack for your Walt Disney World vacation. Don't feel the need to pack everything listed here but simply use it as a guide when you begin packing.

Essential Items

  • Backpack/Park Bag -  Unless you're a Disney "passenger princess" on your vacations, you'll most likely need to bring some items into the theme parks for your travel party. If you are going to bring a backpack or park bag, make sure it's a small bag as smaller bags are easier to bring on attractions and you don't want to be weighed down as you walk through the theme parks.
  • Cell Phone & Portable Charger - I don't know anyone that goes anywhere without their cell phone so it's probably pretty obvious that it's an essential item but you may also want to bring a portable charger. Using your phone to access the My Disney Experience app to check wait times, make Lightning Lane selections, place mobile orders, take photos, etc., can really drain your battery. Bring a portable charger and associated cables so you don't find yourself with a low battery situation.
  • Comfortable Shoes - The Walt Disney World Resort spans over 25,000 acres. If you don't pack any of the other items on this list, PLEASE, for your own comfort, pack comfortable, well-worn shoes! This is not the time to break-in a new pair of shoes that you've never worn before. It's not unheard of for guests to walk over 12,000 steps in a day. Pack comfortable shoes and your feet will thank you later!
  • Poncho or Rain Gear - Afternoon thunderstorms in Orlando are pretty typical during the rainy season of June to September. Although you can buy ponchos in the parks, they are way more expensive than if you purchased them at home. Even if you don't travel during the rainy season, there is still the chance for rain and there are water attractions where you may get wet.
  • Sun Protection - The Florida sun is no joke so make sure to pack the sunscreen, sunglasses and hats to protect you from the sun.
  • Wallet - This should be another obvious packing item but you'd be amazed at how people can forget this very important item. Make sure you bring your wallet and make sure that inside the wallet includes your Driver's License or government issued-ID, credit cards and cash. If you're flying, make sure your wallet is in one of your carry-on bags.
  • Water Bottle - Staying hydrated is key, especially if you're traveling during those hot Summer months. If you don't want to constantly purchase water bottles, bring a reusable water bottle. There are refill stations located throughout the parks and resorts that make it a little easier to stay hydrated and save you some money in the process.
Comfortable shoes are a must

Clothing

  • (1) Outfit for Each Day - Pack 1-2 extras, just in case.
  • Bathing Suits
  • Dress Clothes & Shoes - If you're attending a signature dining restaurant
  • Extra Socks - There's nothing worse than sweaty socks!
  • Flip Flops - You'll want comfortable shoes for the parks but don't forget to bring flip flops or sandals for around the pool.
  • Sweatshirt/Jacket - Even if you're traveling in the middle of Summer, air conditioning at indoor attractions and restaurants can be chilly!

  • Portable Fans and Cooling Towels

Extras

  • Diaper Bag - Complete with diapers, diaper rash cream, wipes, bottles/sippy cup, and bibs if you are traveling with little ones.
  • Disney Gift Cards
  • Earplugs
  • Earbuds/Headphones
  • Glasses/Contacts
  • Gum - They do not sell gum at Walt Disney World or at the Orlando International Airport so if you want gum, bring it with you.
  • Night Light
  • Snacks
  • Stroller
  • Swim Goggles
  • Toys - Bring small toys or books to keep the kids busy on the plane or in the car.

The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel Review

I love staying at the Disneyland Hotel so when I got the opportunity to stay at the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel during opening weekend, I couldn’t pass it up. Because it was opening weekend, we were greeted in the entrance way of the lobby with balloons and many photo opportunities. When we arrived, there was a mural of the Haunted Mansion. I love how the seats in the main lobby were designed like the teacups in the parks. You can check in using the Disneyland app, drop your bags with bell services and head into the parks or use the amenities why you wait until your room is ready. When your room is ready, the resort will send you a text and you can use the Disneyland app on your mobile device to unlock the room. We dropped off our bags and went straight to the parks. We received a text around 1PM that our room was ready. In the new Discovery Tower (the Villas), you'll find that the lobby is very spacious with many places to sit while you read or wait for your family. Th

Cruising with a Baby: A Complete Guide

You took a baby on a cruise!? Yep, and I'd do it again knowing what I know now. So, say goodbye to months of research - Everything you need to know is here!! One of the biggest challenges of traveling with a baby is planning what you need to bring. I wanted to share what worked for us, and hopefully help others who are planning their cruise! Remember, babies can only cruise after their 6-month birthday on sailings from the U.S. If you are going transatlantic, or have more than three days out at sea, they must be 12 months old by the first day of your cruise. Pre-Cruise   We flew to the cruise port, and I couldn’t bring all the food and snacks I needed, so I placed an Instacart order for pick up near the port. I chose Publix in Cocoa Beach which is a few miles from Port Canaveral. I placed the order a few days before we left home, and set the pickup time to 11:00 a.m. I ordered formula, a box of diapers, swim diapers, bottle brush, dish soap, baby food, and baby snacks. I also broug

Remy Brunch Review

On a recent Disney Cruise with a dear friend, we treated ourselves to a brunch at Remy. At the time of writing, this adult only dining option starts at $75 per person. There is a dress code and even at brunch guests definitely dress up for this dining experience. We got all gussied up after rolling out of the oh so comfortable beds on the Disney Fantasy, and went upstairs.  We were quickly escorted to our seat while being given a brief synopsis of the history of the restaurant. Our table had a lovely water view and if one looked hard enough, a small amount of the AquaDuck! We were given a water menu and asked what kind we would like. Simply put, if I am going to indulge in a beverage during an already expensive meal, it's going to be an adult libation nine times out of ten. For that reason, I told our server that I would be happy with tap and so did my dining companion who whispered in my ear she could not justify $15 on breakfast water. We were quickly served complimentary champag
