The Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is part of a recent expansion that includes the new Disney Vacation Club Villas. Island Tower is located near the resort’s main building and beach area, offering incredible views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom. The Island Tower was part of the Polynesian Resort’s transformation after Disney introduced the Moana-themed overlay to the resort. This includes the reimagining of the resort's decor, with vibrant elements inspired by one of my favorite Disney movies, Moana. It is connected to the main Polynesian Resort via a short walking path.
The Island Tower is home to the Polynesian Villas. These villas provide spacious accommodations for guests looking for a more extended stay with kitchenettes or full kitchens.
The Moana's Voyage splash pad next to the Cove Pool features Moana on her sailboat where kids can climb and pretend to be Wayfinders, making it a fun and engaging space. The splash pad includes water spouts and jets for kids to run through. Since it's a splash pad, it's ideal for toddlers and younger kids who might not be ready for deeper pool areas yet. The area is gated to keep the kids safe.
The Cove Pool is a peaceful space, ideal for guests who prefer a quieter experience away from the more crowded Lava pool area. Around the pool, you'll find plenty of loungers and shaded seating areas with tables. There are also towel stations nearby for your convenience. The pool is heated for swimming year-round. The Cove Pool features a shallow, zero-entry that’s great for families with young children or toddlers.

From the Island Tower, many rooms offer stunning views of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom, including the fireworks! Other rooms look out over the perfectly groomed golf courses. We watched the Happily Ever Fireworks from an amazing spot behind the Cove Pool. Look for the area with the hammocks and Adirondack chairs facing the Lagoon (see photos below!). The resort will play the Happily Ever After soundtrack from the Magic Kingdom during the fireworks too! So, grab a cupcake from Capt. Cooks and head over to the Cove Pool! I think this spot is actually a better view of the castle than the beach, because there isn't an island in between.

Dining at the new Island Tower restaurant, Wailulu, during peak hours was challenging. Unlike other Disney restaurants, you cannot book it in advance (up to 60 days before your visit) to secure a spot. Walk-ups are possible but are not guaranteed, and availability is limited, especially during busy seasons or dinner hours. You can join the Walk-up list in the Disney App and enter your party size. It will tell you the next available time to be seated. The wait time for a table of 6 was about 90 minutes. Smaller parties have a much easier time getting sat. If you have a party over four, be sure to join the list around 4:30p.m.
As for mobile ordering, Wailulu currently offers mobile orders for pick up. If you're looking for the convenience of ordering in advance, and having a quick meal, consider using the mobile ordering feature for meals at places like Capt. Cook's or Kona Cafe.
