Makahiki Character Breakfast at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

We had the pleasure of dining at Aulani's Makahiki breakfast and it was a delightful, delicious experience! Makahiki is a restaurant at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai'i. The Aulani Resort is recognizably Disney as soon as you pull into the property. Its well-manicured gardens, water features, and stunning lobby look like a Deluxe Resort at Walt Disney World.  As off-site guests to Aulani, (we stayed in Waikiki, but that's another blog) I have some helpful tips for visiting the resort, whether it be for the restaurants, the beach, or both! Makahiki – The Bounty of the Islands is open daily and reservations can be made 30 days in advance. I made my reservation on the Aulani website. There were a few times to choose from. I chose the earliest available that day, which was 8:30 a.m., because we had jetlag from the trip. A friendly Cast Member called me a few days before the reservation to confirm it with me. You can, however, find earlier times on other d...

A Guide to Meeting the Princesses at Walt Disney World

One of the best experiences at Walt Disney World is meeting your favorite characters and Disney royalty. Autographs from the Princesses are my daughter's most cherished souvenirs.  Here are the Princesses' Current Locations*: Pro Tip  – Princess Fairytale Hall and Ariel's Grotto offer Lightning Lane! If you are using Disney Genie+ during your visit to Magic Kingdom and the lines are long, utilize it for characters and Princesses. Snow White  – Epcot's World Showcase, in the Germany Pavilion, and at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. You can meet her at Storybook Dining at Artist Point, Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Guests have met her at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom as well. Snow White at Storybook Dining at Artist Point Rapunzel  – Magic Kingdom's Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. Jasmine  – Magic Kingdom in Adventureland where she appears with Aladdin near the Magic Carpet Ride, and occasionally at Akershu...

Topolino's Terrace Breakfast Review

Breakfast at Topolino's has been getting quite the hype since it opened, so I was thrilled when I snagged a reservation on our trip to celebrate Magic Kingdom's 50th birthday. This restaurant is located on the 10th floor of Disney's Riviera Resort, the newest to open on Walt Disney World property. The décor is modern and bright, with floor to ceiling windows and a balcony to continue to take in the views right outside. Breakfast is a character dining experience, with Mickey and friends being dressed in their artsy best! Park attire is welcome, but you could just as easily get a little fancy and feel comfortable. We received our bread bucket and everything was delicious! The spreads were strawberry jam and hazelnut chocolate. Chris from Orlando recommended we order the Quiche Lorraine Frittata and the Wood-Fired Butchers Steak, with a side of waffles. We also ordered an extra side of eggs, which was a drop too much. Y’all, everything was SO good. Th...
