First or Second Dining on Your Disney Cruise?

When it comes to dinner, the seating time that you should select for your Disney Cruise is the one that works best for your family. Let's look at the pros and cons of both early and late dining and hopefully that will help you decide! Your show time in the main theater will be based on your dinner seating, so the schedule will work like this: First dinner seating starts at 5:45pm, and goes to the theater for their show at 8:30pm. Second seating will go to their show first, and have dinner at 8:15p.m. Many families with small children find the  second seating to be too late for little ones  to be eating, and they end up selecting the first seating. As a result, second seating typically is easier to get into, and has fewer children in the dining room . This also means that the  Oceaneer's Club tends to have their activities based on the schedule of the earlier dinner .  That's not to say that your children cannot attend if you are in the second seating, ...

Maximize Your Disney Dining Plan

Adding the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) to your vacation package is like having an all-inclusive, foodie adventure at Walt Disney World! It lets you pre-pay for meals, so you can simply enjoy your trip without worrying about out-of-pocket costs. Want to get the most bang for your buck out of the DDP? Here are some insider tips to make the most of your dining plan! 'Ohana Breakfast 1. Babies & Toddlers Aren’t Included - On the Dining Plan, little ones under 3 don’t get their own dining plan credits. At non-buffet restaurants, you’ll need to order a separate meal (which isn’t covered) or  let them share from your plate. Bring your own snacks and small meals to supplement them, like food packets, or purchase their favorite side, like macaroni and cheese, or fruit. I like to order a side dish, and then share bits from our plates.  Caribbean Beach Resort  2. Dine Beyond the Parks -  There are SO many restaurants to explore beyond the parks! Storyteller's Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel

On the last day of our Disneyland vacation, my family and I wanted to have breakfast with the characters. We didn’t reserve it 60 days before, but we looked for reservations that morning, and found one for Storyteller’s Cafe located at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa . If you don’t have hotel reservations, you can still park at the hotel with a dining reservation. They will check your name at the security booth. Upon arrival, we checked in with the cast member and waited for our names to be called. The wait didn't take long at all. We got there just in time for breakfast and our experience was enjoyable. They had a yogurt parfait bar, choice of pastries and cereals, a charcuterie platter and smoked salmon bar. For the hot selections, they had oatmeal, an omelet station, bacon, sausage, chili verde chilaquiles (these were delicious) and of course, Mickey waffles. They also had eggs benedict, carved meats, and some delicious french toast. I had a little bit of every...

If you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World and want a truly enchanting dining experience, look no further than Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.   Here's everything you need to know about this magical dining experience from a Disney Travel Agent's perspective:  When my daughter turned 16, we knew we had to make this milestone birthday extra special—what better way than by dining inside the iconic Cinderella Castle with the Disney Princesses themselves? The dining room has beautiful stained glass windows, soft golden lighting, and grand chandeliers that glimmer like stars in the night sky.The views look out into Fantasyland where you can see the Price Charming Regal Carousel, Beasts Castle, and The Sword in the Stone. The whole atmosphere made us feel like we were part of a re...

Din Tai Fung at Downtown Disney

When I found out that Din Tai Fung was opening at Downtown Disney in California, I was really looking forward to it. The new Downtown Disney location brings this amazing dining experience and combines Disney magic with incredible food, making it a must-visit spot for families, couples, and friends.  Din Tai Fung is known for its delicious dumplings and tasty dishes so while we were down in Disneyland for a quick visit, we couldn’t pass up the chance to visit.  Din Tai Fung started in Taiwan and became popular because of its xiao long bao, or soup dumplings. These dumplings are thin and delicate, filled with tasty broth and tender meat. Eating one is more than just having a meal—it’s an experience.  They have an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs fold the dumplings by hand through a viewing window. Upon arriving at the restaurant, you will need to go speak to the hostess. If you don’t have a reservation, they will give you a wait time and will text you when it...

Fiesta of Flavor: La Cantina de San Ángel at EPCOT

La Cantina de San Angel is a quick service location in the Mexico Pavilion on the World Showcase side of Epcot. It's always busy - and for good reason! The menu is simple but delicious and the views are nice, too.  The menu here is small but packs a delicious (and healthy!) punch. Tacos, nachos, and empanadas are the stars. You can smother them in your favorite toppings--cheese, beans, beef, tomatoes, jalapenos or sour cream. The nachos are a great meal or shareable snack. You can add guacamole for a small charge or take advantage of the complimentary salsa that La Cantina offers. The red is smoky and hot and the green is tangy and mild and both are yummy.  Here are some popular entrees:  Arroz Bowl Rice bowl topped with grilled chicken, corn, spicy tomato salsa, pickled onions, queso fresco and cilantro  Arroz Bowl with Barbacoa Beef or Shrimp Rice bowl topped with barbacoa beef, corn, spicy tomato salsa, pickled onions, queso fresco and cilantro or Rice bowl toppe...

DCL - Rotational Dining Basics on the Disney Treasure

Disney Cruise Line distinguishes itself from the competition with its unique "rotational dining" setup. Rotational dining ensures that all guests experience each of the three themed dining venues on board. Each night of your cruise itinerary, your party, tablemates, and service team will rotate to one of the three main dining rooms. This arrangement allows guests to enjoy multiple restaurants on board while maintaining the same wait staff. Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, guests will receive their restaurant schedule and table number through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Each evening, you will be assigned one of the three restaurants, but you will remain at the same table number each night, making it easy to remember your seating. You will also have the same tablemates and servers, fostering familiarity and the potential for building lasting friendships with fellow guests and staff. In addition to rotational dining, there are two dinner seatings each night of your...
