Evening Activities Outside the Theme Parks

Not only can touring theme parks all day be exhausting, but in the off-season, the parks sometimes close earlier as well. Having a game plan for those evenings can be crucial! Here are a few of our favorite ways to spend an evening outside the theme parks. Disney Springs - Dinner or Dessert Disney Springs has really upped its food game in the last several years. You can find a wide variety here, from fine dining to quick service and even food trucks. Honestly, I’ve liked almost everything I’ve tried. This is a great option to mix it up and get a meal at a more leisurely pace since you won’t be running to the next attraction afterward. Many dining options even boast celebrity chefs, great for a foodie like me. Some of my favorites include Morimoto Asia or Paddlefish for a nice dinner (and they both have great lounge/bar areas as well!). T-Rex is also a huge hit for families with dinosaur fans, but the meteor strike can be a little loud and scary for younger kids. The Polite Pig is great

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar

I love a restaurant with a good theme and if you ask me, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar has a great theme! This dive bar is set in a 1940s style airplane hangar and has a great backstory. You might be thinking "Jock Lindsey...that name sounds familiar." Fans of a little movie called Raiders of the Lost Ark will recognize Jock Lindsey as the sidekick and pilot to none other than Indiana Jones. As shared on the  official page  for the restaurant, the backstory of Jock Lindsey's is as follows: The two globetrotters (Lindsey and Jones) stumbled on Disney Springs in 1938 while chasing down a mythology-based tip in central Florida. Attracted to the town's natural springs and lush terrain, Jock bought some waterfront property and eventually settled down, piloting seaplane tours across the Sunshine State. Jock eventually built an airplane hangar, air tower and runway, and invited fellow members of The Society of Explorers and Adventurers to pay him a visit. His home base soon

eet by Maneet Chauhan

eet by Maneet Chauhan recently opened at the Disney Springs Marketplace and is the only Indian-inspired restaurant at Disney Springs. Maneet joins the ranks of celebrity chefs with restaurants at Disney Springs, and you may recognize her from various Food Network shows, including being the only two-time Tournament of Champions winner.  This quick-service establishment offers traditional flavor with modern flair and has shareables such as eet Bread Service with Pimento Whipped Paneer and entrees ranging from naan bread pizzas, salads and build your own bowls, and kids meals and dessert offerings. There are also beverage selections, with great happy hour specials if you catch it! Entree prices range from about $17-$24 and we found the portions and quality worth the price.  The restaurant greets you with bright colors and a welcoming atmosphere and service. There are pre-mixed beverages and a fun selection of drinks by the can as well as fountain beverages. You order at the counter and

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail

Walt Disney World at the holidays gets a lot of hype as they go all out for the season. Magic Kingdom gets Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Epcot gets the International Festival of the Holidays, and new this year is Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. But I think the Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs might just be my favorite and most underrated of them all!  Disney Springs erects a bunch of beautiful themed Christmas trees throughout the area and you get to go at your own pace to check them all out. It is a great way to add a little extra cheer without having to spend any additional money! Many of the vendors at Disney Springs have seasonal offerings as well to help extend the Christmas spirit if you wish.  Here are some of my personal favorites that we have found in the past. Which are your favorites? Coco Tree Frozen Tree Star Wars Tree Black Panther Tree Toy Story Tree Disney Springs Tree (the big one!) This is a fun and free holiday activity to do w

House of Blues Brunch

Brunch is probably my favorite meal to go out for, and Disney Springs has some hidden gems in the brunch department. House of Blues offers weekend brunch with one of the best deals on property, bottomless mimosas!  If you’re up for it, House of Blues offers a laid back atmosphere with live music for brunch. It is available Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm, with the full menu available after 12pm. We were sat in the back room where we couldn’t see the stage but could hear it and it was a great vibe!  Bottomless mimosas and coffee were the popular choice for beverages, but they also offer a variety of brunch cocktails and other options. Bottomless mimosa! We were a party of 8 and hungry, so we started with an order of nachos from the lunch menu and they were a HUGE portion, so glad we had a lot of people to share them with.  BBQ Nachos - Four cheese sauce, avocado, roasted corn salsa, pickled red onion, tomato, Memphis BBQ sauce, cilantro crema, cotija cheese. Chicken, Brisket or Pul
