Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

The Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is part of a recent expansion that includes the new Disney Vacation Club Villas. Island Tower is located near the resort’s main building and beach area, offering incredible views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom. The Island Tower was part of the Polynesian Resort’s transformation after Disney introduced the Moana-themed overlay to the resort. This includes the reimagining of the resort's decor, with vibrant elements inspired by one of my favorite Disney movies, Moana. It is connected to the main Polynesian Resort via a short walking path. The Island Tower is home to the Polynesian Villas. These villas provide spacious accommodations for guests looking for a more extended stay with kitchenettes or full kitchens.   The Moana's Voyage splash pad next to the Cove Pool features Moana on her sailboat where kids can climb and pretend to be Wayfinders, making it a fun and engaging space. The splash pad includes wa...

Kona Cafe Breakfast

Everyone knows Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It is one of the original Walt Disney World Resorts, located on the Monorail loop and across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Magic Kingdom. Many people know about 'Ohana restaurant within that resort, famous for it’s all you care to eat dinner and character breakfast, but hidden away just around the corner is a gem for breakfast called Kona Café.   Agent Marie with her favorite, Macadamia Nut Pancakes Located in the Great Ceremonial House, just down the hallway from 'Ohana, Kona Café is a quiet and unassuming location with some of the best breakfast choices on property at Walt Disney World.  It underwent a renovation in 2022, but fan favorite menu items remained once it reopened.  Beverages start the offerings with all of your traditional offerings but with a few unique choices that differentiate this dining location.  A press pot of coffee featuring a Hawaiian Kona Blend of coffee is offered as well as Liliko’i ...

Resort Hopping - Magic Kingdom Resorts

Do you ever want a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks but still want to be doing something  and feeling Disney along the way?  Resort hopping is one of my favorite ways to spend the time outside of the parks and get a change of scenery and try some new things.  There are 4 (maybe 5) resorts in the Magic Kingdom area that are super easy to get to and each have something unique to offer.  Here are some ideas of things you can do at each resort, whether you want to spend a few minutes to a whole day.  I highly recommend the atmosphere at all of the resorts which is free to enjoy, but most of the recommended activities do come with a small cost associated (grab a snack, drink etc). Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa The Grand Floridian is the flagship resort of Walt Disney World.  It is full of elegance and has much to offer, even has its very own wedding pavilion.  You can arrive here via walking path from the Magic Kingdo...

Kona Cafe Dinner

The Polynesian Resort has been a long-time family favorite, so when all of my family was together in Walt Disney World I knew we had to have a meal here and we were able to find an ADR (Advance Dining Reservation) for Kona Café.  I've eaten here many times over the years, and it is one of my favorites.  I just love their appetizers and the atmosphere, but tonight our meal was great from start to finish and our server was wonderful with our larger party.   For larger parties dining together, we often recommend making two reservations around the same time as that is typically a bit easier to obtain, so that's what we had but when we checked in we were happy to hear they were able to accommodate us at one large table! We started with some drinks in the Tambu Tambu Lounge next door while waiting for our entire party to arrive. I went with the fan-favorite Lapu Lapu, served in a pineapple, but the Backscratcher is also a favorite and there were many Mai Tais ordered...
