Lightning Lane at Disneyland Resort FAQ

Just when we were getting used to Disney's Genie+ services, Disney has decided to release another change to the system.  On June 25, 2024, Disney introduced the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass system.  For Disneyland, it works the same as Genie+ but is branded with a new name.  Instead of Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane, the new name is  Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.  There will still be the complimentary Genie service.  This new Lightning Lane system began on July 24, 2024. What is Disney Genie service? Disney's Genie service is a free planning tool that guides you through the Disneyland park while providing tips to help plan your day. Guests can find the Genie service on the Disneyland app. The Genie service was released on December of 2021 shortly after Walt Disney World released their version. The free Genie service acts like your very own virtual assistant and lists forecasted wait times, where you can mobile order, manage check-in and dining

Oogie Boogie Bash

Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure has been a hit since it debuted. Tickets are a hot commodity and sell out before the first party of the season. The event runs on select nights in September and October with prices starting at $134 per person in 2023.  Tickets include admission starting at 3pm (party begins at 6pm,) specialty entertainment, treats and your Photopass photos from the night. There’s so much to see and do during the five hours the event runs, there’s no way to do it all so it is important to have a plan. The party really celebrates characters with four ways to see them. 1) Treat Trails are one of the most unique aspects of the party. They are trails that will take you to interact with the villains while also stocking up on candy and snacks. These are not meet and greets, but they are some of the best character interactions I’ve had. Ernesto De La Cruz singing Remember Me was incredible to see in person. 2) Traditional Character Meet and Greets are also av

Halloween at Disneyland

The Disneyland Resort in California really does the spooky season right in my opinion. Starting September 1st both parks and Downtown Disney transform into a fall and spooky paradise. There is décor galore, special food to try and seasonal overlays and entertainment. While Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed event, you can still get plenty of Halloween festivities without attending the party.  Let’s start with Disneyland Park . A giant Mickey pumpkin greets you as you enter the park, bunting and florals are all oranges and fall tones, and the fireworks and projection show are the Halloween version every night, no separate party necessary. There’s seasonal treats at numerous locations to try, but that’s not all. My personal favorite thing (and the queue length suggests it is a favorite for many) is the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay which inserts The Nightmare Before Christmas into the classic attraction.    Disney California Adventure Park  gets even more into spooky season, w
