You Must Be This Tall to Ride...Walt Disney World Edition

There are certain milestones in a person's life that everyone looks forward to; when you're old enough to drive a car, when you graduate from high school or college and when you're tall enough to ride Space Mountain. I know I can't be the only person who counts being tall enough to ride Space Mountain as a major milestone!  Walt Disney World is a vacation destination the whole family will enjoy but there are some attractions that aren't meant for little ones. These attractions have specific height requirements for guests, meaning they must be the specified height in order to experience the attraction. If you're traveling with little ones, it's important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions your little ones can and can't ride, based on their height.  Magic Kingdom 32 inches - Tomorrowland Speedway (54 inches if they want to drive alone)  35 inches - The Barnstormer 38 inches - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 40 i...

Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World

Disneyland and Walt Disney World are two completely different vacation destinations and while there is a natural tendency to compare one to the other and they certainly share similarities, overall, it's apples and oranges. Starting with the obvious: Size . Disneyland Resort has 2 parks, 3 resorts, and a Downtown Disney area. When Disneyland opened in 1955, it was just the original park, and over time as they were able to acquire more of the surrounding land, they turned the parking lot into Disney California Adventure and built parking structures about a mile from the parks. The Disneyland Resort is very landlocked with little room for expansion. Yes, this means there probably won’t be an Animal Kingdom park added to Disneyland Resort anytime soon, but what it also means is that Disneyland is extremely walkable! If you have a Park Hopper and Genie+, you can be in Disneyland park, grab a Lightning Lane for Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure, and make the walk in les...

The Five Biggest Misconceptions of a Walt Disney World Vacation!

There’s no denying I’m a Disney fanatic (along with most of our other wonderful Kingdom Konsultant agents!)    While most people agree that Disney is a wonderful thing, there are many who question my multiple trips to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. “You’re going back, AGAIN?” “Weren’t you just there a few months ago?” “How can you keep going back to the same place without getting bored?”   Chances are, if you’re reading this post, you’ve been asked these questions, too, or perhaps you have a friend like me who you are trying to better understand.   Along with these questions, I’ve heard many other misconceptions of Walt Disney World.   I decided I would use this opportunity to try and shed some light on why Walt Disney World is a great vacation destination for anyone and everyone (even more than once in a lifetime). Fireworks over Cinderella Castle “I only need one day in each park.” One day in each park, even for a seasoned Walt Disney Wor...

The Benefits of Staying on Disney Property

As Disney vacation specialists, we get asked a lot of questions about Walt Disney World Resorts. The first question is almost always, “Is it worth it to stay on property?” to which I always respond, “Yes.  100% yes." We like to say you are "in the bubble" when you choose to stay on property, the magic is all around you and it is just easier  to get around and disconnect from the real world.  Here are a few specifics to highlight some of the biggest perks: Disney Magic — When you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort, the magic is literally at your fingertips.  It starts in the cavernous lobby of the Wilderness Lodge, in the headboard fireworks in the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside, on the 4th Floor Concourse at the Contemporary with the monorail whizzing by, or the second your toes feel the sand on the bottom of Stormalong Bay at the Yacht & Beach Club.  The magic is all around you; in the carpet, on the bedding, in the snacks, even in your shower p...

Mears Connect Shuttle Service from MCO to WDW

Guests looking for ground transportation to Disney World don't have to look far. Mears, the same company that used to operate Disney's Magical Express, introduced their new service, Mears Connect. Although the service may have a new name and price, Mears offers the same safe and reliable service guests have been using for years. In fact, if you use Mears Connect on your next vacation, it may look very familiar.  Mears offers two service options; Standard and Express. The Standard service is a shared shuttle service with monitored wait times and limited stops at at other Disney Resort Hotels, much like Disney's Magical Express service. If you're looking for more direct service, you can book the Express which provides limited wait time on a direct, shared service to your Resort. This isn't a private service so you may share your vehicle with other guests but you'll be guaranteed to be the first stop. Once you arrive in Orlando, you'll collect your luggage from...

You Must Be This Tall to Ride...Disneyland Resort Edition

As a kid, there is nothing more exciting than finally being tall enough to ride the rollercoasters at Disneyland! It's a right of passage to finally be tall enough to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds.  Walt Disney designed Disneyland as a place for the whole family to have fun together but that doesn't mean that there aren't a few attractions that are meant for older (or taller) guests. Some attractions have specific height requirements for guests, meaning they must be at least the minimum height listed or they may not ride the attraction.  If you're traveling with little ones, it's important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions everyone can and can't ride, based on their height.  Disneyland Park 32 inches - Autopia (52 inches to ride alone) 35 inches - Gadget's Go Coaster 38 inches - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run 40 inches - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 40 ...
