Disney California Adventure Park opened on February 8, 2001 and has experienced a lot of changes since then. This park originally opened to highlight the state of California. I remember going to the park right when it opened. It had the letters spelling out California in the front of the park and as you walked into the entrance, you could see the "Golden Gate Bridge." Pixar Pier was called Paradise Pier and the big roller coaster was called California Screamin'. Presently, there are nine themed lands at Disney California Adventure: Buena Vista Street, Pixar Pier, Paradise Gardens Park, San Fransokyo Square, Performance Corridor, Grizzly Peak, Hollywood Land, Avengers Campus, and Cars Land. The holiday season is an extra magical time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. One special event only available during the holiday season is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Celebrate the season with a special Christmastime fireworks show, parade, stage shows, dance parties, treats and more! This special event takes place on select nights from early November until a few days before Christmas.  Know Before You Go In 2024, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party took place on 25 select nights from November 8th through December 20, 2024, and ticket prices varied by date. Prices ranged from $169-$219 per guest ages 10 and up and $159-$209 for guests ages 3-9, excluding tax.  It's very important to know before arriving at the Magic Kingdom that this is a separately ticketed event which means that your general admission ticket does not include admission to this party. The Magic Kingdom was the first park to open at Walt Disney World on October 1, 1971.  Known as "the Most Magical Place on Earth," the Magic Kingdom has consistently had the most visitors annually than any other theme park worldwide.  The park consists of 6 wonderfully themed lands; Advenureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A.  Standing at 189 feet tall is the park's icon, Cinderella Castle, which provides a spectacular backdrop for the nighttime fireworks show. The Magic Kingdom has the most attractions of any of the four parks and perhaps that is why I had such a hard time narrowing down the Must Do's to only 10!  Since it was just too difficult to pick only 10 Must Do’s, there are a couple of honorable mentions that are worth noting. 10.
