Expert Guide to Universal's Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay is a 27 acre water theme park, and probably my favorite part of our most recent vacation.   There is something for everyone to enjoy here, whether your goal is to find adventure or total relaxation.   Starting Your Volcano Bay Experience While you can purchase single-day tickets to Volcano Bay, the best bang for your buck is to bundle it with the other theme parks in a 3-Park Ticket.   Guests staying at one of the on-site resorts have an advantage for Volcano Bay:   Early Park Admission!   You can enter the park 1 hour earlier than offsite guests, which means you have more choice for seating and you can hop on the more popular slides with a reduced wait! You Must Be This Tall to Ride... Universal Orlando Resort Edition

Universal Orlando Resort has branded itself as the more grown-up vacation destination in central Florida. With advertising campaigns like "kids grow up, so do vacations" and "grow bolder", it should be no surprise that there are many attractions at the Universal Theme Parks with height requirements.  If you're visiting the Universal Orlando Theme Parks with little ones, it's very important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions your little ones can, and can't ride, based on their height. You'll find these helpful signs with height requirements for all of the attractions when you enter the Universal Orlando Theme Parks. Universal Studios Florida 34 inches - E.T. Universal's Volcano Bay Private Cabana Review

On a recent training in Universal Orlando Resort, the agents rented a private cabana for the day at Universal's Volcano Bay. There are multiple locations around the park along with the option to have an upper or lower level, all of which reflect in various pricing. We received an email the day before informing her of where to check-in the next morning. While we were personally escorted to the cabana shortly after check in, the line at the check in location is the same as those getting towels, meaning it was not short. As expressed by an additional guest checking into a different cabana, we would have greatly appreciated a separate line, since this caused our group about a half hour wait. We're all adults and made great use of our time getting some fun pictures before the park was filled with guests, but this is important to be aware of if you are traveling with children.  We had an upper level Cabana which came with a splendid view! We arrived to a welcome basket of various fr...

Universal's Volcano Bay Premium Seating

If you’ve read our recent blog, Universal's Volcano Bay Basics , you may recall that Volcano Bay has a variety of seating options available for guests. One of the options you can pay to reserve is Premium Seating. Premium Seating is a great option for those that don’t need a Cabana but would like to have the convenience of reserved seating and some additional amenities.   My family was visiting during peak season, and I wanted to make sure we weren’t stressed about finding a place to take a break or having to wait on food.   I was torn about whether we really “needed” this experience upgrade, but I am so happy we went for it! For the best price, you should try to reserve your Premium Seating as far in advance as possible.  While you may be able to get a reservation upon arrival at the park, it’s always a risk. Plus, you will be paying top dollar if you wait to book. You’re probably wondering, what exactly does Premium Seating include? Here is what you get with your...

What to Expect at Universal's Volcano Bay

If you think you know water parks, think again!  Universal's Volcano Bay at the Universal Orlando Resort has really changed the face of the traditional water park.  They've embraced new technology and really worked to improve some of the more "annoying" things about a hot summer water park experience. The entrance is large, open and welcoming.  If you are staying on property at Universal, you can catch a bus over here or walk from your resort depending on which hotel you are staying at.  The biggest innovation that sets Volcano Bay apart is the TapuTapu Wearable. Everyone gets one with park admission to use for the day and return on your way out of the park. These devices are completely waterproof and have little chance of falling off. You can use these handy little wristbands to reserve your spot in a virtual queue so you aren't spending most of your day waiting in line. TapTu Ride allows you to hop in a virtual line. How it works is you find a to...
