Guide to Disney Genie+ Service and Lightning Lane Entrances

We recently covered the basics of the complimentary Disney Genie service and answered some frequently asked questions so now let's dive into the Disney Genie+ service. How does the Disney Genie+ differ from the Disney Genie? Disney Genie+ takes your day at the Disney theme parks to the next level by allowing you to select the next available arrival window at select Lightning Lane attractions and entertainment options from park open to close. The other big difference is that the Disney Genie+ is an additional cost.  At the Disneyland Resort, the cost is $25 plus tax, per Guest, per day, when purchased in advance as an add-on with a new ticket or vacation package. Single-day purchases for Disney Genie+ through the Disneyland app will begin at $25 per day, and may vary by date, based on demand.  At the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Genie+ will vary in price based on the date and the theme park the guest is visiting, similar to theme park ticket prices. Current pricing ranges from

Throwback Thursday: Chef Mickey's Family Style

Let's take a look back at 2021 when Chef Mickey's reopened as family-style dining before returning to the full buffet experience... Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort has been a long-time popular favorite for its proximity to the Magic Kingdom and the ability to see Mickey and Friends while dining.  However, it hadn't been one of my personal favorites because I felt the quality of food on the buffet had been lacking in recent years.  Since it reopened as a family-style meal and we were able to get a last minute reservation on our recent trip, we decided it was time to give it another chance.  Long story short, I'm so glad we gave this restaurant another try and I hope it stays family-style for a while because everything was really fantastic! Okay now let's get into the details.  We were able to secure a same-day reservation for two on a Thursday night earlier that day.  We had no park plans or anything so some cha

Welcome back to another review of the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival food and beverage offerings! If you read my original review  or Maci's review in Part Two , you know that the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off on July 15th and ends on November 20th so there's still some time to squeeze in a last minute trip if you haven't made it to the Festival yet this year!  For those who haven't read my previous post or haven't visited the Festival before, each year the Festival includes Global Marketplaces where you can taste your way around the world, live entertainment and fun activities the whole family can enjoy.  On my August trip I was able to try a handful of Festival offerings and on my most recent trip we tried even more tasty treats (and enjoyed a few items again!) With that, let's get on with the review... Mac & Eats Location: Near Mission: SPACE The Mac & Eats booth is new to the Festival this year so we were v

WDW 50th Anniversary Foodie Guide - Part 1

The Most Magical Celebration kicked off on Friday, October 1st to celebrate 50 years of the Walt Disney World Resort in central Florida.  While this celebration came with lots of great things, one of the many was over 100 new food items to try across the parks and resorts.  While we haven't come close to trying them all yet, we did our best to start making a dent in them! Over the next 18 months as this celebration continues, our agents will continue to add to this series with our thoughts on more of the great food options offered from fun desserts to Walt's favorites. Amorette’s Patisserie (Disney Springs) 50th Celebration Petit Cake – Vanilla chiffon cake with celebration blue mousse, blueberry jam, and lemon curd Okay I'm definitely starting off with one of the strongest items I've tried so far.  This cake is so beautiful to look at it almost hurt to cut into it, but then we did and the inside was g
