It’s Growing on Me - Epcot's Behind the Seeds Tour!

Have you ever been on the Living with the Land Boat Tour in the Land Pavilion in EPCOT, and wondered who those people are walking in the greenhouses?   I was always curious about that as well, so one year I decided to find out for myself.   The Behind the Seeds tour in Epcot’s Land Pavilion is one of those little gems that tends to get passed up in the mad dash to get to a ride.   It is also a reasonably priced little gem.   The cost is under $20 and will only take about an hour of your time. I can say that it is definitely worth the time to slow down and smell the sunflowers.   Getting to walk behind the scenes is a unique experience and waving at the people in the boats that are on the Living with the Land ride is lots of fun too! The Land Pavilion in Epcot Every year I would take my nephew for our annual trip to Walt Disney World and our goal would be to do something different besides the rides.   When looking over the various tour options, he decided on this one.   So

Star Wars Weekends: The 411

So you want to know what Star Wars weekends is all about?   I have been a regular at Star Wars Weekends since 2003 and over that time I have learned a few things about what you need to do to get the most out of your time. Most people that are new to Star Wars Weekends want to know the same things. “How busy is it?”, “How do things work?”, “What is there to do?”, and “How can I make the most of my time?” How busy is a really simple question to answer. It is very busy, from a certain point of view. The Star Wars activities will be incredibly busy. The rest of the park tends to be fairly mild. If I had to choose the best day crowd wise, Friday would be the best choice. Disney has really refined and perfected how things work at Star Wars Weekends since they started in 1997.   The list of what to do and how to do it is extensive, but it breaks down into four basic categories. Via Napoli

For many, myself included, one of the allures of visiting Epcot’s World Showcase is being able to taste the native food of the countries represented.   With so many amazing and unique choices it may come as a surprise that one of my favorite meals in all of Walt Disney World is pizza!   I know what you’re thinking—pizza is nothing special, just a fast and easy meal for those busy nights when you don’t have time to cook.   But at Via Napoli is an experience in itself, and it is one you shouldn’t miss! Quattro Formaggi Pizza with Strawberry Acqua Fresca Via Napoli is one of the newer dining establishments at Epcot and can be found in the back of the Italy pavilion.   This pizzeria ristorante opened in the late summer of 2010 and I was fortunate enough to visit that same year during the first weekend of October.   I was traveling with my husband, his brother, mom, and aunt.   We’re a pretty tough crowd to please; 3 of us have worked in restaurants and my husband and his broth

Visit the French Quarter of New Orleans and Disney World at the Same Time!

I had the opportunity to tour Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter during an Agent Education Program, and the moment I saw the resort, I said “This is the next resort where I want to stay.” When planning a last minute trip to Walt Disney World for October 2011 there was no discussion of what resort we were staying at. As the official vacation planner of the family, I decided we would be staying at Port Orleans-French Quarter and the topic was not up for discussion. Themed after the French Quarter Section of New Orleans, the resort makes you feel like you are staying there rather than a resort in Florida. As you enter the main entrance you are greeted by a cast member decked out in Mardi Gras attire handing out beads or doubloon “coins” to be tossed into the fountain in the lobby. The lobby area itself is not large and everything is very easy to find. The food court and the lounge (Scat Cat’s Club) are on one side with registration, the arcade and Jackson Squar

Say the magic words - Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!!

Abracadabra!  Hocus Pocus!  Shazam!   These are special words we all know which are bound to elicit some magic.  But to a young Princess visiting Walt Disney World, perhaps the most magical words of all are “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique”.  This enchanting place transforms already beautiful little princesses into stunningly beautiful little princesses.  It also turns parents into mush.  Magic! The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique first opened in Downtown Disney in 2006, inside the World of Disney Store.  In 2007, a second location opened up in none other than Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom.  Since then tons of pixie dust have been sprinkled on the hair of little girls (I’m pretty sure they are in cahoots with Tinker Bell).  As with dining reservations, your reservation can be made at the Boutique up to 180 days in advance.  The Castle location is without a doubt the more desirable of the two (location, location, location), and books up incredibly fast.  I made my reservation on my

Victoria & Albert’s: A Culinary Adventure

What better way to begin the ultimate blog than reviewing the ultimate Disney Dining Experience.   Whenever asked for a recommendation to celebrate an anniversary or birthday, I unequivocally recommend Victoria & Albert’s.   The price-tag may seem hefty, but the value is enormous.   As the only AAA 5-Diamond restaurant in Central Florida, Victoria & Albert’s customer service, food quality and dining experience are unparalleled.   Every aspect of your dining adventure is well-planned with an unbelievable attention to detail.   When my husband, Richard, and I arrived for our meal, we barely had time to step into the area outside Citricos and Victoria & Albert’s, before the Seating Hostess, Diane, whisked us into the restaurant.   How did Diane know we were dining with them this evening?   Well, Victoria & Albert’s has a strict dress code – jackets for men (no tie required) and a dress or pants ensemble for women, and I am sure we really stood out in the crowd.   Upo
