Guest post- A Magical Experience: Family of the Day

Kingdom Konsultant client Mandie and her family recently experienced some extra Pixie Dust at the Magic Kingdom- they were randomly selected as family of the day! Today, she shares with us her exciting experience, along with her appreciation for the magic that Cast Members help to create every day:      The number one thing I learned on my recent trip to Disney World is not what restaurant to book (O’hana), what snack is the best (Dole Whips, baby!) or what ride to avoid with a toddler if you want them to trust you for the rest of your trip (I’m looking straight at you, It's Tough to be a Bug).   It’s something that is far easier to remember, needs no reservations 180 days out, and requires only one word: “Hi”.                  Ok, I’ll be honest.   It doesn’t have to be “Hi” because “Hello”, “Hey There”, and if you’re feeling verbose, “How are you?” will also work.  ...

Who Wants to RunDisney?

I’m sure many of you are already thinking, why would I want to exercise, let along run while at Disney?   The answer…because you can have a lot of fun doing it!   Disney offers an amazing program called runDisney that holds running events of various lengths throughout the year at both Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort.   Each of these races allows runners to experience one or more theme park along the route- who could ask for better scenery as you run! The runDisney organization currently offers 7 different events.   There is the Tinker Bell Half Marathon in January of every year and the Disneyland Half Marathon in late August every year both out in California.   The Tinker Bell is a women’s themed run that makes its way thru Disneyland and the City of Anaheim and is full of the color green and lots of pixie dust.   The Disneyland Half Marathon also offers runners the chance to participate in the Dumbo Double Dare by running the 10k race on ...

Le Cellier - Review of a Fan Favorite

Welcome to Le Cellier Before Be Our Guest opened, reservations at Le Cellier were easily the most sought after reservations in the entire World…Walt Disney World, that is.  Still one of the most popular restaurants in Walt Disney World, Le Cellier is located in the Canada Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. Chances are if you have never eaten there, you have most likely heard of Le Cellier.    Advance reservations are always recommended for table service restaurants but this is the restaurant where it is essential to get a reservation at that 60-day mark.   I was lucky enough to nab a reservation and experience my first meal at Le Cellier. Le Cellier Bread Perhaps my favorite thing about Le Cellier is the bread.   The pretzel bread is just about the most wonderful thing I have ever eaten.   I love bread and I love pretzels so when you combine those two things, it makes for glorious results.     Each piece of bread represents a d...

Live Entertainment at Walt Disney World

Resort reservations- check. Park tickets- check. Dining reservations- check. Fastpass Plus, Photopass, Park Hours, Special Events- check, check, check, and check. A Walt Disney World vacation is a lot of fun to plan and prepare for- and you may think that you’ve thought of everything. But there is one category that often gets overlooked, and should not be missed: Live Entertainment. Upon entering a park, most people will pick up a Park Map and Times Guide. Even seasoned veterans grab these out of habit and nostalgia- who doesn’t love the feel of a freshly printed Times Guide, made especially for your vacation? Besides park and attraction hours, these also list the scheduled times for live entertainment and shows not included inside attractions. Some things are not listed on any schedule, so it is best to keep your eye open.                    There really is such a huge variety avail...

The Magic of the Holidays at Walt Disney World

With summer winding down and kids back in school, my mind is already on the next big thing: Holidays! If you have a trip planned to Walt Disney World this Christmas season, you are either at or quickly approaching the double digit dance of your countdown.   The holidays are a wonderful time of year to visit- just when you thought it couldn't get any more magical, it starts snowing on Main Street. With all respect to Julie Andrews, here are a few of my favorite things (to see!) Magic Kingdom The Magic Kingdom is breathtaking at Christmas. Each year beginning in November, the iconic Cinderella castle becomes even more breathtaking as it is draped in an elegant blanket of sparkling lights. Each night, guests can watch the magical transformation with a short show at the castle stage, and then enjoy the majestic view for the rest of the evening. Periodically, the lights will shimmer, mimicking the glistening of actual snow and ice. NEW IN 2014: The nightly show to tra...

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue... Review!

Howdy y’all! I’m here to tell you about the knee slappin, foot stompin, hootin hollerin good time found at the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue. If you’re looking for some great food and entertainment the entire family can enjoy, you definitely want to check this out on your next visit to Walt Disney World!     Located inside Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, this is the perfect setting for good old fashioned country entertainment. When you enter, the first things you notice are the large vaudeville stage and wagon wheel chandeliers hanging from the cavernous wooden rafters. The tables are decked out in red tablecloths, with tin plates and checkered napkins (which you don’t want to lose- you’ll need them later in the show!). Waiting for you at your table is a bucket of salad and mouthwatering cornbread- probably in preparation of the corn-y jokes you are about to hear!   The service is well timed and coordinated with the show. Before th...
