Hey there, Disney Guys and Gals!      I hope everyone had an awesome January and is ready to roll on into February! Here in Orlando, we have been enjoying some cooler weather and quieter parks, which makes it one of my favorite times of the year! Although I do have to say that there really isn't a "slow season" anymore at Disney. Disney Marketing has found a whole bunch of genius ways to rope in the crowds at all times of year, mostly by adding festivals, like Festival of the Arts, and special events like Star Wars Galactic Nights and the After Hours events at The Magic Kingdom. Instead of "off-season", or "slow season", I'll just say "slowER season". How's that?      Anyway, we all know that even in the slowest of seasons, one thing that is never NOT busy at Disney is counter service dining locations. Guests staying in a Club Level room at either Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort or Disney's BoardWalk Resort can now take a Minnie Van to Orlando International Airport. Minnie Van Service to the airport can be booked via Concierge Cast Members once checked in at the Photo courtesy of WDWMagic.com . resort, up to one day before departure. The cost is $150, and is one way only, from the Disney hotel to Orlando International Airport. Airport Minnie Van Service can carry 6 passengers and up to 3 car seats for guests under the age of 6.  The service is available for airline flight departures from 9:00 AM to midnight, and Disney recommends using the Resort Airline Check-In Service alongside Minnie Van Service. Disney has filed permits for the early-stage site preparation of the upcoming Tron coaster at the Magic Kingdom. Although we aren't likely to see the actual ride being built for some time, we should soon be seeing ground clearing and site preparation work in Tomorrowland. Beginning next week, Disney's All Star Music Resort will start a 3 month pilot program with a registered nurse offering first aid. Hello there, Disney Fans!      Recently, on a day that the parks were particularly flooded with people, I decided to take my kiddos down to Disney Springs to kill some time. Now, we have been there hundreds of times, and the kids love it, but they do get bored of the same old thing. In an attempt to find something unique and fun that they could do, I created a scavenger hunt for them. They had a lot of fun trying to complete it, and so I thought I'd share it here. We did it as a photo scavenger hunt, requiring that the kids take pictures at each of the locations or doing each of the tasks, that way, they had some fun souvenirs when they were done too! Disney's Hollywood Studios debuted an all new set of background music as part of the park's redevelopment for the future. At the Main Entrance you can hear Big Band arrangements of Disney tunes. Along Hollywood Boulevard there are Big Band instrumental arrangements of popular songs from the 30’s and 40’s. Sunset Boulevard features vocal tracks from similar Big Band hits played on Hollywood Boulevard. At Echo Lake you will continue to hear Big Band sounds, pushing towards the 50’s and 60’s with bright, brassy horns and lush string arrangements. Grand Avenue plays music inspired by present-day Downtown Los Angeles, the music on the street includes retro-contemporary west coast funk sound defined by a strong bassline, electric guitars, horns and synthesizers. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster courtyard plays live versions of classic rock songs, including Aerosmith.
