What’s On Your Disney World Bucket List?

Whether you’ve been once or 20 times... and I still have a running list of things I want to squeeze in on my next (or next after that) visit. Here is what’s on my current Disney World bucket list. Tell us in the comments what’s on yours, too! 1. Fine Dining  I have 4 children so fine dining hasn’t been a priority. On my Disney World bucket list is the finest option of all, Victoria & Albert’s, at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  2. Unique Accommodations I had the opportunity to stay at the Polynesian last year - which did not disappoint! I would love to return to the resort and stay in one of the Bora Bora Bungalows! They have personal plunge pools on a private back deck facing Cinderella Castle, and the fireworks! I got to tour them on a DVC tour.  Polynesian Bungalow 3. Behind-the-Scenes Experiences A behind-the-scenes tour is pretty high on my bucket list, including Keys to the Kingdom in Magic Kingdom, which gives you a glimpse into ...

Early Morning Magic: Magic Kingdom

There are a lot of hard ticket events going on at Walt Disney World these days.  If you have the extra budget to play with, it can be hard to choose which one is right for you.  On a recent trip, we opted to splurge on the Early Morning Magic at the Magic Kingdom which takes place in Fantasyland. We had to be up bright and early, but thankfully we were staying nearby at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort so it was only a 15 minute walk from our room to the front gates to check in.  The event started at 7:45am, before the Magic Kingdom opened to the rest of the days' guests. It was a little rough to get up, but if there's ever a reason to wake up at 6:30am, it is Disney!  After our quick walk over we arrived right around 7:45am and were quickly through the turnstiles and heading down Main Street, U.S.A. The crowds heading towards the castle Once we reached the hub area things really opened up and it was amazing to see such an empty Magic Kingdom....

How to “Eat Keto” at Disney World

While there may be an exhaustive list that details every keto-friendly option available on property, here are my overall five tips for “eating keto” or following a similarly low-carb diet at Disney World: Substitute carbs for veggies  Most menu items, whether quick- or table-service, come with a starchy side-item like French fries, chips or potatoes. In our experience, requesting to change that item to a vegetable was almost always accommodated. Some of the substitutions were broccolini, coleslaw, asparagus, and side salad. Get veggies as a side item instead of carbs Make special requests (if they aren’t too complicated)  The number-one request my husband made was simply “no bun.” The table- and quick-service restaurants were happy to accommodate this request, and often the food looked even better without the bun – like at Hurricane Hanna’s when my husband skipped the bun and added bacon to the grilled chicken sandwich! Even the Epcot Internation...

Flower and Garden Festival: Treats and Eats Part 2

In our first installment  of the series we looked at some of the "garden focused" Epcot Flower and Garden Festival booths.  In this installment, we will look at the booths around World Showcase that feature ingredients and items inspired by the country or region represented. While the World Showcase in Epcot is filled with great regional cuisine any time of year, the additional food options that come with the Flower and Garden Festival are always a welcome treat! As you approach World Showcase from Future World, you are faced with a decision - left to Mexico, or right to Canada (or do you get crazy and hop on a Friendship Boat and start in the middle!?)  For today's adventure, let's start to the right and head towards Canada. Canada's Northern Bloom is a great stop for those meat and potatoes lovers in your travel party.  We tried quite a few things here but the pavilion itself is known for the tucked away, Le Cellier Steakhouse, so their beef treats never di...

Take a Peek into Toy Story Land

Agent Maci here and today I wanted to take you into the new addition to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land! Toy Story Land brought two new attractions, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers, and a new restaurant, Woody's Lunch Box, to the park in a larger than life play-set. The addition of this part of the park also moves the entrance to Toy Story Mania into the new land. If you go at any busy time of year in the morning, the crowds will head in mass to Toy Story Land to ride Slinky Dog Dash, and it will stay busy throughout the day. But with good reason, the land is themed great and the rides are fun for the whole family! As you enter the area, you are greeted by a larger than life Woody. Often throughout the day there is also a PhotoPass photographer set up here to capture your family at the entrance! If you stand around and listen, you'll hear some key catch phrases from the sheriff himself! Woody greets guests coming into Toy Story Land The maj...
