World Showcase Spotlight: Germany

This installment of World Showcase Spotlight features a favorite pavilion--Germany! You will find Germany situated between the Outpost and Italy pavilion. With beautiful potted flowers throughout, gorgeous architecture and the delicious smell of caramel treats, this quaint pavilion is an easy place to sit and relax for a little bit. The Germany Pavilion is home to a few stores where guests can buy everything from apparel and toys to steins and ornaments.  Die Weihnachts Ecke is a must visit store for any Christmas lover. Hand blown glass ornaments of all shapes and colors decorate the walls and trees within the store. The pickle ornament tree is also a hit, so make sure to stop and read the story of the pickle ornament if you are unfamiliar with this tradition! Stein Haus is where you’ll find beer steins, as you could probably guess! There is also some other fun merchandise such as t-shirts, etc… Next door to Stein Haus is Weinkeller.  Here you will find German wines, wi...

Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar

Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar is my favorite hidden secret in Epcot's World Showcase, and today I'm going to share it with you! This little wine bar is tucked away between Tutto Italia and Via Napoli in the back left of the Italy Pavilion.  You can't make reservations and can only walk up and wait for a table to be available to enjoy this little piece of Italian paradise.   Once inside, you are transported away from the hustle and bustle of the parks with the dark woods and beautiful bar full of wine selections. If you aren't in the mood for wine, they also offer beer and cocktails.  On this particular trip, we opted for the Italian version of a Long Island Iced Tea and a prosecco. Both were wonderful!  If you can't quite decide what you'd like to enjoy, they offer a variety of wine flights as well to allow you to taste a variety and pick out your favorite (or taste another flight, we aren't judging!)  While you don't have to eat here to enjoy, we like to stop...

Narcoossee’s – A Forgotten Favorite

Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort Narcoossee’s is located on the waterfront of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.   It is in a fabulous location with panoramic views of the Seven Seas Lagoon.   There are several means of transportation you can take to get to Narcoossee’s.   If you are staying at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts on the monorail loop, you can take the monorail to the Grand Floridian.   From any other resort, you can take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail, ferry or brand new walkway to the Grand Floridian.   If you would like to be dropped off right next to the restaurant, take the ferry. Resort ferry launch to Narcoossee's If you like seafood, then Narcoossee’s is the restaurant for you!   From appetizers to entrees, there are plenty of different options for seafood lovers everywhere.   I love seafood so it was actually really hard for me to decide on which appetizer to get.   We went with...

Celebrate Oktoberfest All Year at Biergarten Restaurant

Biergarten Restaurant is one of the most overlooked and authentic restaurants in Epcot in my opinion! Situated in the back of the Germany pavilion in Epcot, it's hidden away. It's one of my favorites spots because of the great food, beer, and entertainment. You're surrounded with German heritage and culture. I really felt like I was celebrating Oktoberfest in a quaint, Bavarian village (which is on my bucketlist!) German food is comfort food! It's filling, hearty, and savory. Look at that huge potato dumpling! When you enter Biergarten, you are magically transported to an outdoor Oktoberfest gathering at night. The "village" has gathered to enjoy food and bier, and dance to polka music. With the leaves on the trees turning orange, and the harvest moon, it makes it feel like it really is October. In the distance, you can see the rooftops of the little cottages around town. Thick, wooden tables are situated around a stage so you can watch the house band f...

La Cava del Tequila

TEQUILA! Anyone else have that song go through your head when you go to La Cava del Tequila or just me? Oh La Cava, how I love your Margaritas! If you haven't been and you love a good Margarita, make this a part of your next trip to EPCOT. It's located inside the Mexico Pavilion to the right when you enter the marketplace.  When you first enter La Cava, it definitely has that party vibe going! It has the feel of stepping into a little hole in the wall or a Cave as the name depicts, with over 200 different brands of Tequila, let the party begin! With it's warm décor and original artifacts celebrating the Mexican heritage, they truly make you feel right at home. It is small, with seating for up to 30.  And the way that it is situated, you don't see what is going on out in the Marketplace. It's an easy way to lose track of time, which doesn't bother me one bit!  I usually go in with a few friends and we will grab a table and order some appetizers.  Guacamole and/o...

Disney’s Riviera Resort

The beautiful resort is themed to Walt Disney’s travels through Europe and his love of the French and Italian Riviera. The special touches like a library, bistro, terraces, and manicured grounds at this resort invoke a feeling of being in such a place. The Riviera is considered a Disney Vacation Club property, and as such it offers only villa accommodations, including a Tower Studio that sleeps two, a Deluxe Studio that sleeps five, a One-Bedroom Villa that sleeps five, a Two-Bedroom Villa that sleeps nine, and a Three-Bedroom Villa that sleeps 12. One of my favorite things about the Villas are how the smaller rooms – particularly the Deluxe Studio – can comfortably accommodate a family of five. In addition to a queen bed, there is also a queen pull-down murphy-style bed as well as a twin pull-down bed. There is plenty of sitting room for the daytime once these beds are folded in, including a table and chairs as well as a sofa and coffee table, and every room features a patio (fir...
