'Ohana Review

‘Ohana means family. So when you get to take your first trip as grown-ups with your brother and his family, you have to dine at the place where family is the focus. Dining at ‘Ohana* changes you. With the food and warmth of the people and the welcoming surroundings of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, it is hard not to fall in love with all it has to offer. And then you have the food. When you are brought in by your cousin, you pass the warmth of the Pineapple-Coconut Bread. You immediately start to feel your soul filling, and you haven’t even eaten anything yet! Once seated, the mixed greens salad is served to you family style! Don’t worry if you finish it...there is more where that came from! Following the salad is my personal favorite, the pork dumplings. I dream of the pork dumplings and honey coriander chicken wings...but mostly...of the dumplings! The teriyaki noodles and fried vegetables are packed with flavor and another family favorite!!! Again, don’t worry if you run o...

Jake's American Bar at Loews Royal Pacific Resort

If you're looking for a casual dining experience after a long day touring the parks, Jake's American Bar is a great choice! Located at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Jake's American Bar is available for lunch or dinner and serves a variety of bar favorites.  This full-service bar pays homage to the fabled South Seas explorer, Jake McNally, whose seaplane you can see floating in the resort's lagoon. They serve appetizers, entrees and island cocktails like Jake's Margarita or the Island Man Tai. If you prefer beer, they also have Craft Beers, Local Brews and Draft Beers available.  On our recent visit, we opted to order a few items to share. We ordered the Homemade Pretzel Rods, Jake's Hot Wings and a Cheese Pizza. Jake's Hot Wings were our absolute favorite! They're served with carrots, celery and blue cheese, and the sauce on the wings was great. Just the right amount of spice for us. We're big fans of wings so we're a little picky but these did...

Taste of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts

Epcot's most artistic festival of the year just wrapped up and I couldn't wait to check out the last week of things to get my fill.  As usual, I'm here for the food which has more cold weather vibes than other festivals I've attended, but there's also fun merchandise around every corner, beautiful flowers in bloom, and artistic photo opportunities to be found.  Whether you attended this festival and want to reminisce with me or you didn't get a chance and want a recap, you have come to the right place!  Let's start with the general vibe of the festival.  It is colorful and casual, it really did feel like we were walking around a local arts festival at times (just with a lot more Mickey Mouse in the artwork.)  There were a few topiaries up but not anything like Flower and Garden, and of course the food booths were around but not as many as Food and Wine, it actually felt a lot more manageable.  The food is all inspired by art in some way so even though it...
